for? Mitch McConnell: 43% Alison Lundergan Grimes: 42% ... True. And that number is only going to get worse as Bevin relentlessly attacks McConnell over the next few months. As others have noted, the risk in trying to primary an incumbent (particularly a "prominent" one like McConnell) is that you may end up handing the seat to the other party. A race like this may end up being an all-or-nothing affair - either Bevin knocks off McConnell in the primary and rides a conservative wave in the general, or Bevin loses but damages McConnell enough for Grimey to take the seat.
