Disgusting what is happening to our military. And it is one thing for them to be allowed in these roles, but now the government is promoting it to women more than men now. As if they are preferable over men! It's crazy. Look at all the ads on TV. It's almost always a woman soldier coming home to the family. In the promotions, it shows women commanding troops. I am so tired of this lie.

Blame the Joint Chiefs of Staff for this fiasco. This previously respected council of warriors thirty years ago would have nixed this political nonsense. However the Joint Chiefs today are a collection of scheming pole climbing careerists and the office has devolved into just another politically correct Federal bureaucracy.

Look at all the ads on TV.
Saw one the other day where the Marine Corps was delivering boxes labeled "American Aid."
Made me want to puke.

the issue is this: women want to be able to make good money too and combat positions get combat pay

This about the communists getting their loyal people into combat arm to be used against us. Anyone can fire a gun and that is all the communists need.

If we're all the same, why the gender exception?Sophism is the language of the land. Any attempt to interject common sense into a discussion with anyone speaking it is likely to get a personal insult for their trouble.

I have no objection to women serving in the military. I don't even object to women serving in combat, or in any other military role - as long as they are required to meet the
exact same standards as male personnel in the same role.
Equality should MEAN actual equality.
Demanding, or even accepting, different standards of qualification for female personnel than those required for male personnel is a defacto admission that they are not equal and therefore are not eligible to be treated equally.

The first time I read this story, I went out in the yard to the swing set to give it a try. I did 3 pull ups. I won’t say it was easy but I’m 68 years old.

I am not a supporter of changing standards for women, simply to get them into combat positions. But if they want to treat women equally, why aren’t they required to register for Selective Service at age 18, just like young men are? It seems this would be an easy fix.

WNBA phenomenon Candice Parker.....Wasn't this tried already? Someone from the WNBA tried to play with the big boys and got badly embarrassed. Cheryl Swopes comes to mind, but I don't know if that was here.
It was back in the late 80s-early 90s, if memory serves.
