Please provide a link. I do not find this anyplace except for unsubstantiated and unsupported supposition on another post in here. They are not even making that claim on DU. The published police reports do not mention him leaving the building. Was he parked in the lobby or the bathroom?

In the current fashion, may I say that I “misspoke”. That scenario was actually brought up in the comments following the article. I didn’t mean to mislead anyone.

That said, unless we know for sure that he did contact theatre personnel and they didn’t respond, it is always a possibility and certainly ought to be looked into. However, he probably did have the .380 on him from the start, given his history. Maybe thinking he was being ignored by the staff put him over the edge.
