Red label Maker’s Mark over spring water ice cubes ...

I had some neat a few weeks ago, and I must say, it's given me a much better opinion of Bourbon. Scotch, however, is still my favorite.

Same here. Interestingly, a LOT of scotch is aged in bourbon barrels since the bourbon barrels can only be used once. You’re getting a bit of that bourbon in your scotch, probably. ;-)

My Dad is kinda a Scotch connoisseur. He and I have been drinking a glass pretty much every evening before dinner for the last 7 years or so. Go through about a fifth a week. Tried ever type and brand available here (Alabama) as well as many that aren't available here(Bama’s got some stupid ABC laws).

Couple of weeks ago came home to find that the bottle was empty!(Oh NOOOO!!). Had a bottle of George Dickel available so poured him a glass of that. And he's been drinking that for the past two weeks. On the rocks. Bought a 2nd bottle. Dickel “classic recipe”. He likes that even better. Gonna try the 12y.o. next.

I prefer Tennessee whiskey over bourbon but I flat out hate Jack Daniel.
