Christie Not Sure When He Learned of Bridge Lane Closures
Wall Street Journal ^ | 1/12/14 | TED MANN

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has given two different timelines of when he learned of lane closures on the George Washington Bridge after they were imposed by his aides, allegedly for political reasons.

Local lanes of the bridge connecting New York City to New Jersey were diverted for five days in September, ostensibly for a traffic study. It later emerged that Christie allies had engineered the closures, which caused massive traffic jams in Fort Lee, N.J., whose mayor didn't endorse Mr. Christie. The governor said he had no knowledge of his allies' involvement in the closures.

5 Days! This is causing a major problem in your state for 5 days and you are not on the scene, hour 2, ordering people around for answers?

Wondering if you have ever commuted across the GWB?

I commuted across that bridge some years ago, and I think there was one day when there wasn't a traffic jam on the bridge. (A hurricane was predicted, everyone was warned to stay out of the city except essential for personnel. The hurricane turned into a rainstorm, but commuters still stayed away.) Construction on the GW bridge began in 1927, the bridge and its approaches are incredibly obsolete. Bumper to bumper traffic with massive delays is the normal state of affairs.

Little doubt Christie had been getting complaints about the GWB traffic since before his inauguration. A traffic jam on the GW is as remarkable as a sunny day in California. According to Google Traffic, there is a traffic jam on the bridge approaches right at this moment.

I've not believed that Christie was either nominatable or electable, but this whole persecution reeks of 2016 politics and Hillary. Worry not about Christie, but that virtually every media "news" outlet is working for the DNC right now.

“I can’t recall.”, “Mistakes were made.”, “I am resigning/not running in order to spend more time with my family.”

The “I don’t remember” may be replaced by “I take full responsibility” knowing that politicians are rarely held responsible for their actions.

I don't think much of Chris Christie (but)....

Then you should be REJOICING that the media finally did something that helps conservatives. Did you hear Guiliani, Priebus, Karl Rove etc defending him? These people need to get out of the way and let Ted Cruz and those who stand by him run the show. If the media helps us get rid of a very big road block, don't complain. (That's a pretty good pun....pat myself on the back)

I hope they help us take down Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan next and any other disgusting RINO backstabbers the RNC,Chamber of Commerce etc promote.

I still don’t know that they have proven that the aides “engineered” the closures, rather than simply using them for their own political glee.

Thats because Christy doesn’t have the media blackmailed into submission the way hussein does.

It depends on what the meaning of bridge closures is.

He did NOT give orders to close that bridge! (Jabs fat, stubby finger)

Major scandal... Al Queda takes back Fallujah. It's a one day day story.

Local politician and local scandal. Wall to wall for weeks.

Absolutely disgusting.

Christie is not a conservative. If you are a real conservative, you should be happy with what is happening to him.

All attention off Obama because of a local scandal?

Major story of Fallujah sidetracked and those soldiers who fought there not highlighted because the media is after Christie and MSM is intent on protecting Obama?

No thanks. I will not be a party to that garbage.

I’m sure Karl Rove and Reince Priebus appreciate your support for Christie.

I don't support Christie.

But highway closures do compare with the loss of Fallujah and expansion of Al Queda which is being covered up by the MSM and which should be the headliner for weeks.

A major disservice to the troops who fought and died in Fallujah.
