I find the WeatherChannel useful for the little box I get when I push the red button on my DirecTV remote that shows the current temp and forecast for my location and 5 zipcodes I can enter. It helps me keep track of what the temps are where my relatives/friends live.

Weather Channel is unreliable. If I want to know the weather in another city, I search for a tv station in or near that city and check that station's forecast. The locals know the weather in their town better than the Weather Channel.
