Getting rid of Christie would definitely speak truth to power. The media would change the subject as if the GOP was fighting amongst themselves.

Getting rid of Christie, for what? You don’t even realize that you are helping the left wing media and the demonrats.

When someone farts in New York/New Jersey it is a national crisis! On 9/11/2001 when the secret service sent George Bush out harms way he was a coward said the press; on 9/11/2012 when Obama was informed that the American Libyan Ambassador and other Americans were under siege, the Kenyan American president continued to supervise the laying out of his costumes for the fund raiser in California the next day; the press showed no curiosity (and continues to criticize those who do) regarding the abandonment of the Americans and their murders.
Fella tis t Press.

I don’t think the author is making light of the “traffic jam” so much as he is pointing out the hypocrisy of the media. Shutting down a bridge so as to punish political foes is certainly bad, but so is using the IRS to do the same. I should add that the IRS fiasco is hardly the only incident either (as the author points out). The current administration is rife with corruption and has politicized nearly every agency and department.

Just like the Democrats, when a RINO abuses his power, his minions will just joke about how insignificant it is.

We can’t expect the libs to clean up their act, when the RINOs just laugh when they are caught up in similar scandals.

What Christie did was to abuse his powers to punish his enemies. Anyone who believes Christie didn’t have a hand in this is just as naive as the minions who don’t think Obama had a hand in any of his scandals.

Yes the libs are making political hay about this. But then hypocrisy is their middle name. Conservatives are held to a higher standard. We should be. We are a responsible lot.

Tyranny is tyranny. It should always be punished severely.

I'm no fan of Christie, but you're wrong on this one.

There's no way in hell Christie would have spent nearly two hours at an unscripted press conference dealing with the fallout over the "bridgegate" incident if there was even a remote possibility that there's any evidence linking him to it.

"To CNN, thank you! Your wall-to-wall coverage in this time of national tragedy has been second to none. The courage you’ve shown in uncluttering your airwaves of the “phony scandals” you’ve been covering over the past five years so we could know more and more and more about this is commendable. I do fear for the health of Wolf Blitzer. Yes, there is not a more trusted voice on the scourge of traffic, but the man needs his sleep. He has been hyperventilating for what seems like 36 straight hours. Please, make sure he stays hydrated and gets some rest. We will need him if, God forbid, some other random New Jersey Democrat says something about Chris Christie. "

There's the money shot

Whether liberals are hypocrites and whether Chris Christie is a damned RINO who undoubtedly abused the power of his office and ought to suffer for it are two completely separate propositions.

Evidence? Where's the "Evidence" of Obama's ties to Benghazigate or Fast and Furious?

By using your standard and Christie's "I didn't know about this until I read it in the newspaper" excuse, Obama is as clean as a whistle.

Christie is a Lib in a corrupt Liberal State. Using political power to punish your enemies is the natural state of things in a place like New Jersey. And Mafia bosses always cover their tracks.

Christie did not close the traffic down. It was his Aide who closed it down as a payback against the democratic mayor of Fort Lee who did not support him.

Unlike that arrogant, lazy, lying pos occupant of the Spite House he took the blame when he said it happened on his watch, and he rightly fired the Aide.

Instead of firing the guilty ones, 0bama promotes them or lets them retire with a big bonus

Christie fired all of the people involved. They have all the incentive in the world to spill the beans with whatever evidence they can come up with.

You've made a statement here -- Anyone who believes Christie didn’t have a hand in this is just as naive as the minions who don’t think Obama had a hand in any of his scandals. -- and I've called you on it.

You can believe whatever you want, but there's no basis for it other than your statement that anyone who doesn't agree with you on this point is "naïve." Good luck with that.

Personally, I think there is growing evidence that this whole "bridgegate" affair was an internal GOP attempt to sabotage Christie. Bridget Kelly, the staffer who he fired last week, has had a long career working in various political positions ... including previous stints working for John McCain and Rudy Giuliani.

Access to the bridge has always been awful because of the poor design of the approaches. The flip side of it is that the traffic coming from the Rest of The World (I-95, etc. -- the Republican 'burbs) must have been flowing much better than usual. Fort Lee's loss was everyone else's gain.

Even if Christie harbored had some sort of bizarre grudge with Sokolich, I don't see how he could have produced any e-mails or text messages about it. His fingers are too fat.

Christie fired all of the people involved.

So when they come out now and try to implicate him, he can just claim they are disgruntled former employees.

Any attempt to paint them as disgruntled former employees will be useless if they can present clear evidence that he knew all about it. This is why I'm 100% sure that there is no such evidence.

Keep in mind that Christie was winning his re-election in such a landslide that he surely didn't need the endorsement of a Democratic mayor in an obscure Bergen County town to help him win. Christie himself said -- and again, there would be plenty of evidence to refute him if he were wrong about this -- that he never remembers even meeting the guy (the mayor of Fort Lee) before.

Sure, there's a lot of petty, sh!tty politics going on here. But none of this involves people who have any relevance in the larger scheme of things -- even from Christie's standpoint.
