They wrote the rules requiring coverages for people who couldn't possibly have a particular condition as a way to spread risk, increase costs, and increase their profits.
They pushed the mandatory coverage as a way of increasing market share.
They pushed the employer mandate as a way of getting even more customers.
And they wrote the rules guaranteeing that if, even after all that they still couldn't make a profit, we would pick up the tab.
And THEY lived in la-la land.
Well guess what, the USA is not some magic cash cow! It operates by capitalist principles!
Unless we have the capability of independently rewriting formerly-evolved insurance law from scratch, and I don’t think so at this scale, the Blues are going to have to be part of the solution. Because if they do not cooperate, they will surely be singing the blues.
