Fox News chief Roger Ailes released a book recently and has been on a book tour promoting it. In the process, Ailes gave an interview to the Hollywood Reporter in which he suggested that CNN was "out of the news business" due to its increased reliance on human-interest and sensationalism.
Those comments apparently didn't sit well with CNN head Jeff Zucker.
Zucker today spouted off about Fox News' political influence, saying "the Republican Party is being run out of NewsCorp headquarters, masquerading as a news channel."
Considering that part of Ailes' initial interview was that he was not particularly worried about CNN, it's doubtful Ailes would consider this outburst particularly meaningful.
Still, Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus set the record straight.
Hey Jeff Zucker, we're the Republican Party and we speak for ourselves, pal. Have a great weekend. cc: @CNN @FoxNews— Reince Priebus (@Reince) January 10, 2014
Takes one to know one. They really don’t like us to play their game.
Zucker is a left wing media stooge who is riding CNN on its plunge to the ground. Good luck with that, Rat Face.
And the democrat party isn’t being run out of the headquarters of CNNABCNBCCBSMANBC? Thanks I really needed a great laugh to start the day
uckers response is SO typical of a RAT—it’s always somebody elses fault. They can NEVER take resonsibility for screwing up.
CNN...and most liberals...do not realize Fox News keeps moving towards the left.
Yeah and ABCCBSNBC and CNN are moving to the right /SARCASM>
Exactly
Exactly
Who are you kiddin'? He'll nationalize them! Then they can get the appropriate label they have lived for decades: Government Information and News Ministry.
Yes Fox has and is heading westward.
Let’s see....one person keeps having record high numbers and the other keeps having record low numbers.......so who would one think is the genius and which is the moron!!!
CNN, I know you will never do this because it is an incurable genetic flaw in your organization, but— if you adopted a professional, 100% honesty policy; showed all sides of major issues; didn’t have a leftist biased attitude; didn’t ignore important facts; didn’t fear to fairly investigate any politician; showed the same respect for conservatives, Christians, and Jews as you do for special interests such as homosexuals and lefties; showed respect for the principles upon which this country was founded; and didn’t have any clowns on your staff, you would blow Fox away. You would be the heroes of America by exhibiting old style integrity in reporting. It would be an exhilarating breath of oxygen for America.
You won’t do any of these, and that is the reason Fox has no need to fear you at all.
Don’t want to have a big argument about it but Fox news has never claimed to give conservative or liberal views but that they would report the truth and let the cards fall where they might. That is what a news station should do!!!
To which I say, “the democrat party is being run out of the headquarters of ALL the other major networks, masquerading as news channels.”
“Who are you kiddin’? He’ll nationalize them!”
Why bother paying for something when you already have it.
Jeff, I have an idea! Move CNN even farther to the left! That should be the ticket to a roaring recovery!
