President Obama, Stop D*mning The Achievers For Their Virtues
Forbes ^ | Jan 7, 2014 | Harry Binswanger,

...now “Inequality is unfair!” is blared by every anti-capitalist from President Obama to the pope, from the new mayor of New York City to the Occupy Wall Street rabble. And, of course, by The New York Times.

In Obama’s world, if farmer Fred harvests 4 pumpkins and farmer John harvests 2, Fred has taken two-thirds of “the harvest” for himself. He should be ashamed. It’s unfair. It’s a crisis. Something must be done: “it challenges the very essence of who we are as a people,” says the President.

That’s more of the same collectivism.

Suppose that one man has an income of $10,000 a year but others have income of $100,000 a year. Would the poor man be better off by moving to a land where everyone had only $10,000 a year?

Egalitarianism is a rationalization for the lowest of human emotions: envy. Not envy for what others have, but something much uglier: hatred of anyone for having achieved anything.

It's an excellent article - worth bookmarking to use for educating those who fall for the Obama "inequality" nonsense.

Obama is preaching failed Marxism but the world economy is way more complicated than the author makes out.

Republicans need some new ideas realistic for the modern economy to pitch, especially for 2016 election.

In other news, President Obama issued an executive order for all copies of “The Little Red Hen” to be confiscated and destroyed, because the book promotes income inequality and exposes children to hateful ideas which are not compatible with a progressive democratic society.

Rush Limbaugh was saying today that in Capitalism, the rich become powerful but in Socialism, the powerful become rich. True words, I think.

When I tell that story to my daughter, and get to the part where the hen asks who’s going to eat the bread, I always make sure to have the hen say “No, I will eat it myself, *because I did all the work*”.

It’s a bit more insidious than nonsense. This playing to peoples envy and resentment of people who have more than them and a desire to redistribute their wealth was the mechanism by which Lenin and Stalin justified and marshaled support for their genocidal murders of Ukrainians, Kulaks and other productive members of society.

The communists amplified the disparity between segments of Russia society by destroying the economy and impoverishing large numbers of the population and then blaming “have not” peoples poverty on segments of society who are “haves”, to keep the population insecure and to use wealth disparity as a wedge issue in a divide and conquer scheme to consolidate their power in the USSR.

They were especially good at playing those poor captives living in large cites or urban areas who have no independent access to food or fuel and who were totally at the mercy of the politicians for basic survival against those living in rural areas who were small farmers who could grow their own food and gather wood so they would not freeze to death in winter resided who were also in utter poverty but at least had ability to live a minimal subsistence existence.

Sound familiar?

It should, because this dynamic is being manufactured and exploited by the current political leadership here and now.

And it is working so well it got the Bolsheviks in Congress re elected in 2012 against all rationality and odds.

The inequality that the egalitarians actually hate and fear is moral inequality. They rebel against the idea that they are responsible for their own acts and for their own moral character–or lack of it.

Very well said. That is the very root of the liberal/Progressive mindset.
0bama's mind is the epitome of that moral envy.

Just putting some old ideas together, and meaning it this time would probably be enough: reform the IRS, from the ground up; reduce onerous regulations handicapping American business; get the federal government out of personal lives; eliminate outmoded agencies that basically exist to make '60s and '70s hippies feel like they were "right" about something; negotiate on the world stage from strength, not weakness; let the states solve their own problems without incessant federal meddling; actually have a federal budget so you can then make meaningful cuts in it; limit actual "in person" Congressional sessions so Congresspeople spend more time in their home states hearing it from the voters than they do at Washington cocktail parties hearing it from lobbyists ... That should be good for a week or so ...

For 2014 the midterms certainly it will be enough. We have a natural advantage there.

But I was talking about 2016.

Recall that with many on this site and on AM talk radio, rehashing 1980s from >30 years ago economic arguments was promised to win us big in 2012..

But it was really was a clear loser
2016 won't be a 1980 or 2010, over even a 2012 hopefully.

The 2016 GOP candidate should also emphasize those and other conservative aims, not be afraid to tell the American people what they desperately want to hear.

And he isn’t one of “me”.
We need to shoot this income equality and wage hike down with no remorse, no mercy.
This is simply an Obamacare dodge by the liberals to try and salvage their careers. No one will get any more money, no one will get one damn thing except more of the same failures that we’ve had for the past seven years.
