Because we’re in the middle of a recession and this will keep citizens unemployed? How about that reason? Because they broke the law and jumped in front of millions who are doing it legally? There’s another one.
Primary!

He’s accepting the same promises given during the Reagan amnesty when they lied about securing the borders. How stupid does he think we are??

Will the enforcement measures be as tough as the ones promised in 1995? (the ones that left us with 11 million more in 19 years)

RE :”

Goodlatte is in effect making the promise himself that some new law will force Obama to enforce it, which is at this point is a completely ludicrous argument given Obama's record.
To Obama law enforcement is completely optional, with him being King is the only one getting the options.

Deport all illegal aliens now and the health care system in this country will fix itself.

Good Lord. I used to think that Goodlatte was one of the tough ones on immigration.
To: A_Cougar
Is this guy an idiot or a subversive?
The reason is obvious. “Amnesty” with “border security” has been done before - and the Federales just ignored the part about about border security.
NO Amnesty.
Secure the border.
Then we’ll talk.

These are good reasons to remove lawmakers from Washington. Move them back to their respective home states.
Everything they need to accomplish can be done with electronic connections. They would be closer to their constituents, and further from lobbyists and Washington parties.
At one time, Washington was about the center of the US. Today the country has grown west and north. The geographic center is somewhere in western Nebraska or South Dakota.
This is something that should be considered at the coming Convention of States.
