Echoing strategy that led to the October 2013 government shutdown, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says Republicans have opportunities to scale back Obamacare with deadlines looming on spending bills Jan. 15 and on a debt ceiling vote this spring — and is urging GOP lawmakers to use “every leverage point available” to uproot the law.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Wednesday, Cruz vowed to “fight even harder . . . to repeal every word of Obamacare,” calling the health care law "a disaster" and "the No. 1 job killer in the country."
The feisty lawmaker sees a comparison between his push to crush Obamacare and former President Ronald Reagan’s famous “tear down this wall" challenge to the Soviets from near the Berlin Wall in 1987.
Reagan fought to keep that wording in his speech, Cruz told the newspaper, "because he understood the power of speaking the truth.”
"People have said, 'Boy, did you get lucky that Obamacare has gone so badly,' " he said. "But when you are speaking the truth, the truth will prevail."
Cruz denies he’s an obstructionist — telling the newspaper he came to Washington "to focus on jobs and economic growth" — but said "elevating the debate on Obamacare" was his top achievement in 2013.
And he blamed subsequent damage to the GOP image resulted after Senate GOP leaders "actively attacked House Republicans who were standing on principle and fighting to defund Obamacare."
Other Republicans are wary of trying the shutdown strategy once again, The Journal reported.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

It was my understanding that if Congress cannot agree on a debt ceiling hike this time, OZero gets to do it by himself - thanks to the “compromise” voted in last time.

Of course it is...
EXCEPT... a certain overweight “rising star” RINO governor - or his staff - of a certain Blue state on the East Coast just HANDED the Dems a new talking point to take the attention OFF Obamacare and deflect it to “bridgegate”...
which we’ll be hearing about over and over ad infinitum for the next three weeks as the dems’ media sycophantic slobs fall all over themselves to pile on...

"Those Democrats leering over my shoulder owe me bigtime. This
healthcare bill insures we have a permanent Democratic majority."
" All except those Tea Party types, swallowed hook, line and sinker my promises that they could:
(1) keep their existing health plans,
(2) keep their own doctors that they like,
(3) keep their 25-year-olds on the family health plan,
(4) never be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition,
(5) sign up instantly on my tech-savvy government Web site,
(6) buy insurance only after becoming seriously ill."
(7) save $2,500 in annual premiums in the bargain....
(8) All without any new taxes."
"Them sonovagun Tea Partiers will rue the day they criticized my wonderful bill."

Two months ago Cruz was saying that he’d be releasing a plan for replacing Obamacare with something that works. Now he’s back to just repeal Obamacare. What happened?

A doc told me yesterday that what he worries about the most is the high deductibles. People don’t realize they have them. Then doc bills them when insurance doesn’t pay him. Then they whine that they didn’t know, they don’t have that kind of money, etc. It’s a nightmare for the doctors.
You can have your patients sign a piece of paper saying they owe whatever their insurance doesn’t cover, but that doesn’t really help.
To: NFHale
You’re right! Except the modern version isn’t funny.

And wait til doctors find out that when the O/Care geniuses start building the ICD---diagnostic coding system---the DR's wont get paid for 6-8 months.
(Timeframe assumes the ICD coding is as "effecient" as the rollout was---snicker).
Doctors are expected to use their own funds during that time---to pay their personal and office bills.
Shopaholic wives are gonna be a problem.
