House GOP writing 'principles' for immigration reform

WASHINGTON — House speaker John A. Boehner told rank-and-file Republicans that his leadership team was drafting “principles” for overhauling immigration laws that will be presented in coming weeks.

Boehner made the remarks Wednesday during the first private meeting of House Republicans in the new year. House Republicans have struggled to respond to the Senate's immigration bill that passed in June, which would create a path to citizenship for 11 million immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally. Boehner refused to bring the Senate bill up for a vote in the House last year and instead said the House should consider a series of narrower measures.

"We are working on a standards or principles document," Boehner said, according to a person in the room granted anonymity to discuss the private session. The document is being drafted by Boehner, his leadership team, including House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), as well as other members interested in the issue.

House Republican leaders believe that the GOP needs to support an immigration overhaul to woo Latino voters in advance of the 2016 presidential election.

The GOP acts as though we currently have no immigration laws.

I’m beginning to wonder if Boehner, in some of his many drunken binges, didn’t take some side trips down “the hershey highway” and become subject to blackmail. I don’t know how to otherwise explain his obsession with betraying us.

Easy. GOPe and dumbocraps are on the same team. He is not betraying us so much as advancing his liberal agenda and reaping the financial rewards.

One day the gov is begging to extend 2 years of unemployment ran out to be extended and the next day wanting 11 million plus millions more illegals here to steal jobs and benefits from this country. And after any reform when more illegals start showing up it will be the same thing. They may get vote. They are flushing this country right down the toilet.

But they were afraid of losing their donors if they enforced immigration laws.

It's important to use correct terminology. The big "donors" to politicians are called "clients". They pay for services rendered. We "constituents" are just useful idiot schmucks, tricked by their fancy ad campaigns and false promises into voting for them.

WE don’t want illegals in our country taking our jobs.

Hundreds of people applied for a job at an ice cream factory... it’s awful in the country outside of Washington DC where the crooks rob us to live well...

We the citizens of this country do NOT want illegals made into citizens. It’s a slap in the face.

I wish I had confidence in conservative voters. Many will stay home. Some will vote for the incumbent. Some will vote for a “D”. Many, many will do nothing between now and the election in November to save our country. So many just Don’t care.

Vote out the RINOs in 2014. They’re worse than Democrats!

Is it just me, or is it a fact that if you have to “write” down “principles” ...,

Here's principle for Boehner: "People who break into my home are NOT 'undocumented guests' they're thieves.

People who break into my country are NOT undocumented citizens - they're criminals.

It's against the law to break into a home or a country.

That's a friggin' "principle'. And it's already law Boeher.

So give up the big buck donations from people paying you to screw over the American people and follow the law that's on the books.

What difference do ‘tough’ laws make when they choose to enforce only those laws they want to?

The federal government has become a cancer on the body of the nation.

IMHO.

If the Republicans are stupid enough to embrace amnesty then it is time for a third party.

Which would be electoral suicide. But, at least, suicide with honor. Better than voting for traitors.

Yeah, I started to say “big donors”.
They’re, as you say, like ‘clients’ and the politicians their agents.

“electoral suicide”

Since the GOPe responded to “primarying” with such offense
I’ve come to believe that running a conservative third=party candidate against a few of the worst RINOs would do more good than harm.
The lesson would be taken to heart by the GOPe.

Principle No. 1: Amnesty
Principle No. 2: No more principles

There, John. I did it for you.

It’s always about amnesty. Everything else is window dressing or bull$h!t.

You mean you don't believe and value vital items like "1,000 new border guards", or "a fence within the next 10 years", or "new tough penalties"?.

You don't believe these awesome promises will totally outweigh the impact of legalizing 20 million third-world illegals and opening the floodgates with vast new legal visa categories?

I think taking out Boehner, Cantor and Ryan will be hard.

But take out Grimm, Duffy, Kinzinger, Jenkins, Sessions and a few others.

Rising stars, lapdogs and Boehner’s inner circle.

Rubio and Schumer had a list of principles and even Steve King agreed with all of them except citizenship. Then people bothered to read Rubio’s bill.

Here’s a “principal” for you.

Dear Senator Ron Johnson (Backstabbing RINO-WI) and Representative Thomas Petri (R-WI), if you vote for amnesty, I will spend every evening and every weekend gathering signatures for your recall. First in Ozaukee county, and then in the city of Milwaukee. EVERY! EFFING! DAY!

Jesus H. Christ on a pogo-stick, what the hell is wrong with the GOP-e? Did Obama’s NSA catch each and every one of them in bed with a dead girl or a live boy?
