Police are investigating whether an incident involving a man punching a woman in the face for no apparent reason is related to the "Knockout Game."
Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department said just after 4:30 p.m. Monday officers responded to a call of an assault and battery in the 14000 block of Blossom Hill Road. Witnesses told police a man confronted a woman in a strip mall parking lot and struck her in the face with a single closed fist.
The victim fell to the ground and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Manny Singh, who owns the nearby Los Gatos Pizza, said he saw the victim after the incident.
"She was crying. She was crying really bad," he said. "She said she didn't do anything wrong. I don't know what happened to her."
The suspect ran away after the incident and before officers arrived on scene, police said.
Some people at a dance studio located near where the crime occurred are concerned that the attack is connected to a national phenomenon called the "Knockout Game."
The game involves people attempting to knock out unsuspecting victims with a single sucker punch for amusement purposes, according to police. Investigators, however, said they do not have enough evidence to connect the crime to the game.
"There is no specific indication that it is part of the Knockout Game, but again we're not ruling out any of those motives," Sgt. Clinton Tada said.
The suspect is described as an African American adult in his early- to mid-20s, 5 foot 9 inches to 6 feet tall, slender build and short, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap backwards.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department at 408-354-8600.
Ha! We got that t-shirt, didn’t we?
Wow! The Black Watch is bringing back some Los Gatos memories.
Lived in LG for four years 1988-92 in order to let our daughter go to LG HS after being threatened at Willow Glen HS by the East side lovelies that were bussed in .
Normally I drank at the Three Flames on Meridian but my last stop was sometimes the Black Watch.
No joke...
They bussed East siders all the way to Willow Glen?
Ridiculous waste of money, time and resources.
As well bringing chaos to an otherwise orderly bug.
“Smile. You’re in Willow Glen”
Ever see that sign?
It’s on the side of the building at Lincoln and Minnesota.
BTW, 3F is still on Meridian.
I use to take my little friend there for breakfast before she had the nerve to leave me at 101 years old.
Thought she wuz gonna live forever..../s
LOL
I hope her husband remembered her Endowment Name.
Heck, if you live at Cambrian Plaza maybe we can grab a coffee or a sandwich at Togo’s....
I’m over there all the time and right now I’m at Good Sam.
Absolutely. We had 800 square feet at 1188 Lincoln Ave on the plaza next door to a great little Mexican bar. We moved our business into the Fairmont Hotel in 1992. Tom Mchenry helped us get out of the lease when we moved to southern Utah in 1999.
The Lambo/Ferrari dealership is still there.
Business must be good!
What!!!
I’ll bet we know each other.
1st that Mexican Bar/Restaurant is still there and so is the beauty parlor.
Do you remember Lina Broydoh? She was the marketing manager and also George Patton, Catering and sales.

Did they say your going to live?
They said your going to live and love it.
They prayed for me.
What about Penny’s or Last Call?
If I’ve been there, I don’t remember...
