One-party urban areas dominated by public workers unions, bloated bureacracy, high taxes, and out of control spending, pensions and benefits generally suffer the same fate. Not even LA’s fantastic weather can change these trends.

I think San Antonio is chasing the LA model just as hard as they can. If San Antonio can’t ditch the Castro brolthers— I’m thinking it’s time for us to start thinking about moving.

You know they always release some sort of study before they get down to what they really want. They’ll next call for destroying Prop 13 and raise property taxes — where else they gonna go? I can hear the clamor now.

Saw the Tyrone Power version of Zorro. One thing I noticed is that LA hasn’t changed in 300 years - it’s still full of Mexicans.

I was born in downtown L.A., raised a few blocks south of the Coliseum and worked like crazy to get out of that hellhole. Moved out after college. That was 23 years ago and things have only gotten worse there...

LA’s prospects are not enhanced by the location of LA in California. That is two strikes against LA right there- it is LA and it is in California.
