Jan. 6, 2014 (LiveActionNews.org) - The Race for the Cure has hit a wall. Breast Cancer giant Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been embroiled in funding controversies, and a new report shows that its revenue is plummeting, not only for its once-popular race, but also for its organization at large.
Reports show that Komen experienced a 22% drop in donations in the year after the controversy over its grants to Planned Parenthood. Reports also showed that fewer people took part in its fundraising Races for the Cure across the country. The organization announced last summer that it would cancel half of its three-day charity walks for this year because of a drop in participation.

Annual Reports provide this information. If you don’t like the salaries, don’t contribute to them.
Huge nonprofit organizations like Komen need to be run like huge for profit organizations - there’s still a bottom-line. Would you rather they not attract top talent to run a huge nonprofit organization?
If the CEO is sister of Susan Komen, and makes a high salary, is it high compared to other CEO’s running a organization of that size, that type? There is a board that determines the mission and direction of that organization.
Looks like Brinkman took a 15% cut (actually she switched jobs within the organization - the new CEO still gets Brinkman’s old salary) when reports say that revenue is down by 22%. think that was a poor PR move on her part.
About time.
So, why should we have to be taxed for such schemes? I detest that program almost as much as Planned Parenthood - even though one is supporting greed, sloth, and theft while the other is supporting mutilation and murder.
Where has our moral compass wandered off to?
You’re greedy. 22% is a fantastic start. Even more people will learn the truth as the word of this massive decrease grows legs. The story “is too big to fail!”
All the Media down to “trade” publications will be editorializing about this for months to come.
Enjoy the victory when you get one.
Only 22%? Well, hopefully that will accelerate in the coming years.
I know I quit giving to them after they re-upped with the pro-infanticide business.
I also quit giving to Boy Scouts after they went pro-sodomite. Ironically, I started giving to the Boy Scouts because they were brave and stood for traditional values. Then they went down the commode.
after the PP debacle, never give a cent to this disgusting group
The RNC has announced the Winter Meeting will be at the March for Life in Washington, DC in a few weeks. The RNC has delayed their meeting since there was so much interest in attending the March for Life.
Though I am a fan of the Tea Party/Tea Party Express, I like to see the Republicans support pro-life.
As for the Democrats, my name for them is just DEMON - RATS.
They’re the ones actually waging the “war on women.”
Why go through crooked middlemen?
After wife’s thyroid and then successful double mastectomy, we give directly to M.D. Anderson, in Houston, the most celebrated cancer center in the world!
If that was not an Omen to “you can keep your doctor” Obama care scam fund raising....
Next: really, you can keep your gun.
ditto
if “EMT Transport” is your area’s equivalent of DC’s “Metro Access,” the outfit that transports disabled to doctors’ appointments, it’s not ‘free.’ We had a permanently disabled client who was reliant on DC Metro to get to her appointments. IIRC, it was $5/ride or $10 round trip. Such a deal, unless, like her, your income was a <$300/mo. disability payment and you have 3 doctor appointments in a week. That’s an urban area. Giving gas cards probably makes more sense in less populated areas.
Very little of the money they raise goes to cancer research I bet
I give up, I don’t care if anyone gives them gas cards or about the “Metro Access”. That’s not the point, the point is the Komen should be concentrating on a cure.
Why?
Komen is not a research organization, they are a fundraising org. They raise money so they can spend it raising money.
And pad the dead sister’s pockets.
