Well, I guess if DC would no longer be the Capital it would become the 51st state with 2 senators and a representative or two. I wonder which party would benefit more .../duh ...

No, just break it up and add the pieces to the surrounding states. Either that, or put a wall around it and keeps all the Gibbsmedaats sequestered until they either die off or kill each other.

We are unlikely to really move the capital city but we can and should de-centralize and privatize the government. The growth of the DC metroplex in the Bush-Obama years is an historic tragedy. The area has incredible inflation due to the huge federal spending.

Having the US financial system centered in lower Manhattan and the federal government centered on the Potomac is very risky, as should have been obvious after 9/11.
