We now know how the Russians felt as they read Tass. I always wondered how they could swallow all that propaganda, now I know, there were some who did and some who knew they were being lied to.

The Russians had a pun using the names of their two largest news services.

One was named Pravda, which means “Truth”, and the other was named Isvestia, which means news.

In the Russian it’s a pun because of the names of the news agencies, but it rings true in modern America even without the pun aspect.

“In the Truth (Pravda) there is no News (Isvestia), and in the News (Isvestia) there is no Truth (Pravda).
