a young and idealistic American Jew who chose to spy for Israel will be forced to pay the ultimate price for his decision.

Jonathan Pollard had serious medical conditions at the time of his arrest in his twenties. He remains seriously ill in his fifties.

Seriously ill until he is released.

This is an obviously biased piece trolling for an uninformed reader.

Pollard was railroaded by Casper Weinberger. Pollard was promised a plea bargain with a short jail time in exchange for a plea. Weinberger doubled crossed him, however, and the government withheld important facts that spoke well for his defense. Pollard will almost certainly be shown to have been a hero in the light of history:
Freedom from prison is long, long overdue.

People who spied for enemies of the U.S. were given short terms, but the Jew a life sentence for helping the U.S.’s best and technically helpful and strategically helpful ally in the whole world. The U.S. handling of the Pollard case has been a travesty.

All other people who gave classified information to other countries, gave the information to enemies of the U.S. and they were given short terms, but the Jew a life sentence for helping the U.S.’s best and technically helpful and strategically helpful ally in the whole world.

“nearing his fourth decade in prison for a crime all others similarly charged see freedom within four years”

A thirty five year sentence for Chelsey Elizabeth Manning, and he’s only a woman.

Really?

I doubt it.
