Pollard was railroaded by Casper Weinberger. Pollard was promised a plea bargain with a short jail time in exchange for a plea. Weinberger doubled crossed him, however, and the government withheld important facts that spoke well for his defense. Freedom from prison is long, long overdue.

People who spied for enemies of the U.S. were given short terms, but the Jew a life sentence for helping the U.S.’s best and technically helpful and strategically helpful ally in the whole world. The U.S. handling of the Pollard case has been a travesty.

All other people who gave classified information to other countries, gave the information to enemies of the U.S. and they were given short terms, but the Jew a life sentence for helping the U.S.’s best and technically helpful and strategically helpful ally in the whole world.

I hear you, and I agree with you completely.

Way past time for Pollard to be set free.

A lot of traitors get less punishment than they deserve, which is unfortunate. Other people's crimes don't absolve Pollard of his crimes. He betrayed his country, and he deserves to be punished. Contrary to what you say, the USSR and Pakistan were not allies of the U.S. in the 80s. Pollard's efforts could have helped the U.S. get nuked. Pollard only started observing Judaism to help escape punishment. He was actually kind of anti-Semitic before. The U.S. is helping Israel by imprisoning him. Israel should execute Pollard in it's own right for betraying him.

Pollard is supported by people like James Woolsey, who is an evil, anti-American man. Woolsey protected the most terrible spies against the U.S., like Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen

I don’t know much about what Pollard did but I know wikipedia is a cesspool of liberalism, so if they are on his side, I am probably not.

You are seriously misinformed. The information Pollard gave the Israelis about U.S. intelligence “sources and methods” was then transmitted by them to the Soviets in exchange for permission for additional Russian Jews to emigrate to Israel, as well as for more lenient treatment for other Jews not allowed to emigrate.

It appears that you are whining because a Jew is in prison. And if he was a muslim, then would you feel the same?

The wiki article you reference has a section ("Early Career") that disturbs me. He apparently admitted to "prolific drug use" during the 1970s and was turned down for a CIA job but was hired in 1979 by Naval Intelligence in which top secret security clearances were required. The CIA did not disclose to Naval Intelligence Pollard's extensive drug use history and Pollard evidently did not volunteer it.

From there, several high-ranking officials sought to have Pollard dismissed but their efforts were stymied by bureaucracy. Meanwhile, Pollard was shuffled from one department to another where he exhibited increasingly bizarre behavior - such as attempting to vomit in order to invalidate a polygraph test.

Read the entire article, I'm not inclined to have much sympathy for his predicament.
