It's the same thing as your cable TV bill in the States, except a hell of a lot cheaper. And BBC has some excellent programming.

The funny thing is that Top Gear is probably one of their top rated shows and they bash liberalism and anything green without mercy. Tesla Motors unsuccessfully tried to sue Jeremy Clarkson for a bad review of their electric car.

OK, now it makes sense.
They don’t actually have a B&W TV, but they say they do. In order to pay less tax. That makes perfectly good sense.
