On CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, host Candy Crowley asked a question of Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisc.) that should offend people on both sides of the aisle.

“If I am an unemployed American…or if I am a minimum wage worker…why would I become a Republican?” (video at source with transcript and commentary):

Politicians who “Stand for the little guy” have a vested interest in making sure that there are lots of little guys to stand for

Bravo, sir! Superb! That should be a slogan for every conservative campaigner from here on out!

Yeah Candy, God forbid someone WORK for their money, why work when they can sit on their fat asses, eat donuts all day, and play XBOX while they await their welfare and food stamp checks to arrive in the mail

Neither wing of the “demopublican” party gives a rodent’s nether-regions about the working class. It’s just that one wing is better at faking concern than the other.

Candy Crowley's question was indicative of the leftist mindset and demonstrated that the Democrat party can only offer the American people bribes, not opportunities.

Governor Walker offered a good response that Crowley dismissed, of course. The comments on the webpage that was linked are both amusing and encouraging.

If merit and ability were what mattered, Candy would be unemployed herself.

This reminds me so much of one of my all-time favorite TV show scenes, from Laverne & Shirley.

Shirley is making out with Carmine “the Big Ragu” on the couch, and Lenny and Squiggy are constantly interrupting them. Exacerbated, Carmine turns to the duo and says, “If I give you 10 bucks, will you LEAVE?!” To which Squiggy matter-of-factly replies:

“Why would we leave someone who’s giving us money?”

If I am an unemployed American…or if I am a minimum wage worker…why would I become a Republican?

If that's her logic-- then why would any hard working, tax paying American or entrepreneur ever become a Democrat?

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I am mystified how Crowley has lasted as long as she has in the business, much less become CNN’s “top analyst.” The woman is quite literally, the least insightful political commentator I have seen in a long, long time. She pretty much spouts stuff everyone else already has figured out, and never does more than skim the surface of the harder issues. She’s more Meghan McCain than Bill Buckley.

And you can't even blame it on her sleeping her way into her position - the chances of that having happened may not be zero, but are darn close to it.

Yet another member of the Liberal Establishment admits that Romney had it right with his 47% comment.

The Republican Party won’t win by trying to outbid the Dems for people on unemployment and welfare. It could, possibly, win by appealing to people who are working their tails off to subsidize those on unemployment and welfare, plus those who want to get off of it and are actively trying to without success.

what a great softball. obvious answer “Given that democrat policies destroy jobs why would one of those people want to be a democrat? Republicans want to grow the economy which will result in better employment conditions for those at all salary levels including minimum wage.”
