DENVER Democrats came under heavy criticism Friday for driving Magpul Industries out of Colorado by pushing an aggressive gun-control agenda, a move that could cost the state more than $80 million annually.
Republican state Rep. Lori Saine said she was saddened to see this completely partisan law, widely considered unenforceable by sheriffs across Colorado, cause Magpul to leave our state.
The magazine ban did not garner one Republican vote in the House or Senate, and now as a result of this one-sided, Democrat-sponsored law, more than 200 people will lose their jobs and their ability to provide for their families, said Ms. Saine in a statement. [T]his move will cost the state of Colorado over $80 million a year in revenue.

Stealing that.
Denver is not all that far from Cheyenne, Wyo. where Magpul is relocating. I wonder if the employees will be offered jobs there?
Not exactly. Magpul is helping those employees who want to stay with the company move the two hour drive to their new plant in Cheyenne Wyoming. They will no longer be CO taxpayers or consumers so the loss will be greater than the $80 million estimate. Magpul and its employees are also undoubtedly happy that there is no corporate or individual income tax in WY either.
good, they deserve it. They are quickly becoming a national joke faster than you can say “eeer, pfffffff, duuuudde”.
FWIW the legislature had nothing to do with legalizing pot. It was a ballot issue.
Doesn’t Colorado still have ranchers and hunters and regular folk who have guns? How does this kind of legislation get passed in a western state, where a good majority of people probably have some kind of weapon?
yeah, that’s what I mean.
I’ve been to New Hampster, duuuudde.
Yeah, I’m reminded of those old-time “United States” picture-puzzles geared for youngsters, in which the pieces were the individual states. Each state had little pictures on them representing their state’s unique heritage or industries. I can just see Colorado now, depicting a big ole marijuana leaf.
It’s for the children.
Of the 200 people who will lose their jobs, how many vote democrat?
I know what you mean. I don’t have any skeletons in my closet. I had to rent a warehouse.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Colorado revolt: 55 of 62 sheriffs refuse to enforce new gun laws.

“It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognised as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased,
to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished;
and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs,
and to KEEP AND CARRY ARMS wherever they went.”
Bloomberg and a band of New Yorkers came in and bought those seats, including the head of the state senate. They passed those laws without committee review, citizen input, bypassing all the normal state senate procedures.
They didn’t want any industries in colorado that weren’t beholden to them, so they used environmental laws to hurt farmers, close coal mines, harass our natural gas companies, and passed gun laws to drive off the rest. Then they passed a voter registration law where anyone can register to vote in a county they don’t even live in, just by stating they plan to move there in the next 20 days. They don’t even have to do so.
Two senators were recalled, but the third resigned before the recall election could be scheduled, allowing senate dems to fill the seat, and keep control of the senate for this year.
I still count that as three successful recalls. It simply wasn’t possible to stop Hudat from resigning but the people did force that choice on her.
becausethe denver boulder ft collins triangle has enough libtard voters to rule the rest of the state. much like nyc vs western new york state. hell i got redistricted into diana destupid's 1st district. she is an idiot right down there with babs boxer. my sheriff is one of the 55 and cheyenne is just up the road.
When has that ever stopped Democrats from relentlessly advancing their agenda? Only Republicans wither under "heavy criticism."
There is an entire branch of "journalism" dedicated to criticizing Republicans (JournoList), knowing that they will eventually cave on any issue if pressed hard enough.
