.....................what do we do for people with serious and chronic conditions?
let them die because they are unlucky enough to get seriously ill?..............................

All states offer hi-risk pools. Here in Texas it was administered by BCBS.

After a couple of bouts with cancer, my wife joined the pool. Her premium was about $600 per month.

When Zer0care came into existence Texas cancelled its hi-risk pool.

Now with Zer0care her premiums are now $754.

I am sorry to read that
I have obamites telling me( they are in Texas) that for them it is WONDERFUL.
The one obamite said he is getting full coverage for a family of 4 , silver for $498 a month. he gave no duductible amount
another says in el paso, for a family of 3 he will pay $350/ month down from 950. he is 50
I do not believe them

but my question to you is do they ask if she has a preexisting condition? I thought they couldn’t ask those questions

Yes, she needed to go through an extensive medical history when signing up with Humana.

I believe that they can’t deny coverage for pre-existing stuff, but they need to know the mix of their clients history in order to rate their pool of clients.

thank you
I did not know that
and I stupidly thought people in the risk pool would end up better off. It turns out to not be true
I have a friend out in alpine who was in the risk pool. I kept telling her she’d get cheaper insurance
now I have to find out if she did

once again 0dumbo lied
I bet there aren’t 2 million all tolled in the entire country that will end up with cheaper insurance
