I will never use Enterprise again. Way back in 2005, I made a trip to do some house-hunting before a cross-country move. I paid for roadside assistance in my rental. During my travels through the many new sub-divisions, I picked up a construction staple in the tire. Right on the edge of the tread. I heard the slow leak while it was parked at the hotel and called the company for assistance. They then informed me that they'd only be able to change to the spare, not fix the deflating tire, and that it would be a three-hour wait. So I said never mind and changed it myself. By the time I got the spare on it, it was too late to take it anywhere to get the tire fixed. I called the company again, and they told me it was no problem.

Several months later, I get a bill in the mail informing me I owe Enterprise for a destroyed tire. They even highlighted the tire size and cost for me. I looked it up, and the tire they claimed they had to replace didn't come in the size they quoted for that year, make and model vehicle. I also argued with them that when I left, the tire was still inflated (very slow leak), in the back of the vehicle, and was examined by the check-in agent.

They didn't care and wanted to charge me. I told them that they were wrong, I could prove it (thank goodness I'd also taken a picture of the staple). They claimed the sidewall was damaged beyond repair. My photo showed otherwise. They were a real pain, but in the end, I was not charged for anything. It also helped that I no longer had the charge card account that I originally used for the rental.

It's funny how you get different stories from different people about the same company. I rented a car from Enterprise a few years ago and got TWO flat tires at the same time (I must have run over something in the road). I drove the car to a repair shop and they were able to fix one of them, but the second one had to be replaced. I paid for the cost of the replacement tire and drove it home (I was several hundred miles away when this happened).

Enterprise covered everything and even sent me a check to cover the cost of the new tire.
