State Senate Majoriy Leader Martin M. Looney said he would have preferred to receive a different type of magazine for a Christmas present.
I wish he had sent me a New Yorker, the New Republic or the Atlantic, Looney said when told he was the recipient of a high-capacity gun magazine.
Specifically, both Looney, D-New Haven, and state Sen. John McKinney, R-Fairfield, each were sent one 28-round standard capacity AR-15 magazine, manufactured by C Products Defense Inc. of Bradenton, Fla.
It was part of Alabama gun activist Mike Vanderboeghs Toys for Totalitarians campaign, in which he is sending banned high-capacity magazines to some legislators after he finished sending various examples of magazines to the governors of Colorado, Maryland, New York and, as of Monday, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
Looney said he was informed by Capitol Police Sgt. Timothy Boyle of the present late Monday.
The majority leader said he didnt accept it and a spokesman for the police said the three empty magazines have been turned over to the Connecticut State Police major crime squad.
Looney said some people think the entire Constitution resides in the Second Amendment, rather than understanding the totality of the document.

“Looney, D-New Haven”
lol
Looks like the AR mags are 30 and the AK mags 28.
Too bad they don’t make mags for AK platform Saigas. They’re a little harder to come by.
28 or 30, the point is, you ought to have at least 10 or 15 mags for each battle rifle. When it looks like the SHTF, load ALL the mags you own.
CDNN occasionally has very good specials
So Looney wants a free subscription to the New Republic. How does one respond to someone that stupid? In mono syllables.
Well, I guess mono syllabic words would be more precise.
OTOH why bother at all?
State Senate Majoriy Leader Martin M. Looney?
He's a looney alright!
His mama named him well.
That’s like asking Obama why there are only 50 States when he plainly said there were 57, or 58, or 59, depending on who you ask.
So we should all take any crappy or malfunctioning magazines and mail them to random legislators in states that hag bans. Maybe one or two might get charged.
Meanwhile Martin Looney’s New Haven is a crime infested cesspool where 75% of the murderers (and victims!) have previous felony convictions.
He should have sent them some Skittles and Arizona Watermelon Drink along with the Magazines.
In addition to being clear, direct and concise, one of the great aspects of the US Constitution is that each clause and amendment is written in such a way that it is self contained and stands on its own.
Unlike the gibberish written by congress in modern times, intentionally meant to be confusing, uncertain and unclear, the Constitution was written to be understandable and unmistakable in content and meaning.
It is only corrupt politicians, academics and judges who maintain the self-serving pretense that the Constitution must be interpreted and deciphered.
I am proud to say I know Mr. Vanderboegh.
The full dose is with a 4 oz bottle of DM cough syrup, $1 from Dollar Tree or Dollar General --
“Looney said some people think the entire Constitution resides in the Second Amendment...”
As a guarantor of all the other freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights, you’re d@mn right it does, ol’ Looney Bin!
Sounds like someone in the CT Capitol building or legislative offices just made an illegal transfer of a large-capacity magazine.
But, this being Connecticut after all, criminal acts by government officials or employees is pretty much business as usual.
“When it looks like the SHTF, load ALL the mags you own.”
I keep several around loaded to half capacity, and rotate those monthly to combat spring fatigue.
The ridiculousness of the law is that, the mag shipped anyway, and it aint like the shipper shipped anthrax, or dog doo.
Stupid liberals
Dang, where can I get me some of these high capacity clips??? I can only fit 5 bullets in my clips
Looney is a great name for him, he’s looney. I met him a few years ago.
