ObamaCare’s latest whopper (Here come the Deathpanels)
NY Post ^ | Jan 1, 2014 | Betsy McCaughey

In 2013, the American people learned what whoppers the key promises of ObamaCare turned out to be. But the biggest whopper about the Affordable Care Act is yet to be exposed: the tightening grip the federal government will have over your doctor — even if you’re paying with private insurance.

Section 1311(h)(1)(B) of the health law gives the secretary of Health and Human Services blanket authority to dictate how doctors treat patients. Not just patients in government programs like Medicare and Medicaid, but patients with private plans they pay for themselves. On Dec. 2, 2013, we learned from the Federal Register that the rules are now being written. Starting in 2015, insurance companies will be barred from doing business with doctors who fail to comply.

Obama’s nominee to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Dr. Donald Berwick, also insisted the federal government must step in between doctors and their patients to curb and redistribute the use of medical resources. Berwick said resources should be allocated based on “important subgroups.” These groups, rather than the individual patient in the doctor’s office, he said, should be the “unit of concern.”

Here come the deathpanels... the government will decide whether or not you are "worthy" for treatment and what kind...

Looks like some of Holders people are happy navigators (HPN).....

HPN....OK whitey....lets check your voter registrations ....

HPN....Looks like you need to make a couple of adjustments here....

OK now I see it......your colonoscopy is scheduled for next month.....and the insulin will be mailed as before...

HPN Thinks...."this desk job sure beats stealing cell phones and a once a year gig patrolling voting booths with my billy club......."

"Yeah...and instead of pounding the streets looking for a likely "Polar Bear"...I can just make a few key strokes in the data base and ZAP-POW...another one bites the dust."

(He also got the message about hiding the screen image of his laptop)

“Yutes” is an Ebonics extraction, often heard when listening to female AFAMs that are in Congress. You know, the same deep-thinkers that ask if the Mars Rover can see the footprints left by Neil Armstrong...

“I quit when medicine was placed under State control, some years ago,” said Dr. Hendricks. “Do you know what it takes to perform a brain operation? Do you know the kind of skill it demands, and the years of passionate, merciless, excruciating devotion that go to acquire that skill? That was what I would not place at the disposal of men whose sole qualification to rule me was their capacity to spout the fraudulent generalities that got them elected to the privilege of enforcing their wishes at the point of a gun. I would not let them dictate the purpose for which my years of study had been spent, or the conditions of my work, or my choice of patients, or the amount of my reward. I observed that in all the discussions that preceded the enslavement of medicine, men discussed everything — except the desires of the doctors. Men considered only the ‘welfare’ of the patients, with no thought for those who were to provide it. That a doctor should have any right, desire or choice in the matter was regarded as irrelevant selfishness; his is not to choose, they said, only ‘to serve.’ That a man who’s willing to work under compulsion is too dangerous a brute to entrust with a job in the stockyards never occurred to those who proposed to help the sick by making life impossible for the healthy. I have often wondered at the smugness with which people assert their right to enslave me, to control my work, to force my will, to violate my conscience, to stifle my mind — yet what is it that they expect to depend on, when they lie on an operating table under my hands?… Let them discover the kind of doctors that their system will now produce. Let them discover, in the operating rooms and hospital wards, that it is not safe to place their lives in the hands of a man they have throttled. It is not safe, if he is the sort of man who resents it — and still less safe, if he is the sort who doesn’t.”

Heaven help dear leader and his goons the day doctors realize who holds the trump card in this relationship.

“Men considered only the ‘welfare’ of the patients,”

One error here — newsflash: the government doesn’t consider the welfare of the patient at all, if they did, they would treat doctors better, since they are the ones providing the life saving treatments and surgeries to the patients.

It’s a Rush Limbaugh mis-pronunciation of youths

No, he copied it from the movie My Cousin Vinny.

1. The Declaration of Independence enshrines three basic rights: the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The right to life is the only fundamental right, from which all other rights are derived.

The right to life protects the individual’s ability to take all those actions necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of his life. It is based on the idea that life is the standard of moral value. The right to liberty protects the individual’s ability to think and to act on his own judgment. It is based on the idea that rationality is man’s highest moral virtue. The right to pursue happiness protects the individual’s ability to live for his own sake, rather than for the sake of society. It is based on the idea that the pursuit of one’s self-interest is one’s highest moral purpose.

2. Gee for everyone sentenced to death in a criminal case, there is the Death Penalty Appeals Process where a person is allowed nine appeals in the court system and a tenth chance for Executive clemency.

Where's the appeal process if ObamaCare denies you medical treatment which could save your life?

I didn’t read the whole thing...but Berwick WAS the acting head of CMS awhile ago...he resigned or pulled himself out of the running some time ago. The quotes attributed to him may be accurate..but as far as I know, he’s no longer a part of it...that Tavenner twit is.

Anyone reading about the ‘groups’ talked about in this article would come to the conclusion they were talking about ‘diabetics’, ‘heart patients’, etc.

I firmly believe they’re more like ‘conservative’, ‘Christian’, ‘tea party activist’.

The ones who will most likely go off are the folks who have worked all their lives and now have health care withheld so it can be given to the lazy non working takers in our society.

Screw that. I think they found the way to start the class war they have been looking for.

Came to those conclusions long ago. It is self defense to fight for one’s life. And you will receive better care in prison than a free citizen would get.

Exactly. That is why you have to report meaningful political contributions. The IRS will know your political philosophy and your medical care will be adjusted accordingly. Conservatives will be triaged out. Want to bet I’m wrong?

As far as the effect is, yeah. Other than that one thing, she’s right on about the panels. They’re going to have to have them, no matter how much Team Obama says otherwise.

Oh yes, you have free speech---and so do I! With such a serious subject, you can only comment on Sarah Palin's attractiveness? I have always been her fan but she's far more than a pretty face. Keep your eyes and mind on what she says!

Just a suggestion.

... the biggest ACA whopper is yet to be exposed: the feds tightening their grip over your doctor and your healthcare. Section 1311(h)(1)(B) gives the Secretary of HHS blanket authority to dictate how doctors treat patients. Not just patients in government programs like Medicare and Medicaid, but patients with private plans they pay for themselves. On Dec. 2, 2013, we learned from the Federal Register that the rules are now being written. Starting in 2015, insurance companies will be barred from doing business with doctors who fail to comply.

More than half the cost of O/Care's misnomered "senior entitlement" scam is subsidized by actually restricting and rationing senior care---by cutting what hospitals, doctors, hospice care, home care and Advantage plans are paid to care for seniors.

============================================================

Obama and the Dumbos are in for a shock---by whispering reassuring sweet nothings about the benefits of ACA, they don't realize they're "teaching" their own caretakers how to treat them in old age.....not going to be pretty.
