Rose Parade Gay Wedding Going on Despite Protest
ABC Newsw ^ | Dec 31, 2013 | John Rogers

Aubrey Loots and Danny Leclair joke that they're getting married New Year's Day in front of 80 million of their closest friends, and the men say they aren't that concerned that a few thousand others may boycott the first gay marriage at the 125-year-old Rose Parade.

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses, which puts on the parade, said in a statement that it is proud to have the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's float, adding it clearly represents this year's parade theme, "Dreams Come True."

"Like all of our sponsors and float designers, AHF continues to help make the Rose Parade a premier event through original and creative expressions that connect to parade themes," the statement said.

Marching
in the inaugural sashay is Brittany Lynn (right) and her Drag Mafia, including Crystal Electra, Alexis Cartier, Misses P., Porcelain, Bridgette Jones, Stella D’Oro, Mary D’ Knight, Navaya Shay and Cherry Pop.

“We are all honored and thrilled to be asked to march down Broad Street with the Mummers in such a great Philly tradition,” says Lynn. “Then to be the ‘hype men’ for the amazing Fancy Brigades… is just beyond words,”

The 102-year-old parade culminates at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where each queen will perform a ten-minute routine.

You know, I’ve always felt that what goes on behind closed doors is none of my business but it SHOULD STAY behind closed doors.

I’m sick to death of militant in your face gays pushing off their lifestyle on EVERYONE.

They’re not content with being free to be queer, they want to force us to view their proclivities out in the open for all to see.

Sick of it.

I won’t be watching but I’d love to hear a duck call or two ring out during the TV coverage.

What time does it start? I honestly don’t know. Whatever time it is, that is my naptime.

The in-your-face narcissists presenting this perversion don't grasp the irony of the two rump wranglers “marrying” atop a float ostensibly dedicated to AIDS prevention and treatment. Instead, they are promoting the very activities that perpetuate the deadly, behaviorally transmitted disease they supposedly seek to eradicate. One wonders.

In Alabama they come out once a year. The rest of the year they hide.
In CA and my home state of NY, they are in your face 24. 7. 365.

It will be interesting to see if the viewership drops by a few thousand or a few million.

Yes, this is the punishment for Californians voting to make a constitutional amendment simply stating that marriage is only between a man and a woman. In retaliation, they destroy our parade.

I feel like an idiot, however; should have thought about having a group with duck calls. Wonder how quickly Pasadena can pass an emergency resolution declaring duck calls to be outlawed?

Hey. It’s California. What else would anyone expect.

The People of California voted to ban Queer Marriages.

This was a gift from our Liberal Court system.
