11-year-old Roi Fogel, whose parents and three siblings were brutally murdered by Arab terrorists in the Shomron town of Itamar in 2011, wants to know why the Israeli government is releasing terrorist murderers.
The 11-year-old boy, who survived the brutal terror attack, asked this question over this past Sabbath, as he was celebrating his birthday.
Elihai Ben-Yishai, Roi's uncle and the brother of Ruth Fogel hy"d, recalled his nephew's remarks in a conversation on Sunday with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. The conversation took place as Barkat visited the bereaved families protesting outside the Prime Minister's residence.
"My nephew asked why the State of Israel releases terrorists back to Judea and Samaria, when half of them resume terrorist activities? Why do they do it? The 11-year-old child understands what this government does not understand. My nephew really does not understand the government's decision," Ben-Yishai told Barkat.
"It's a shame. The wheel is spinning and no one is stopping it," he added. "A terrorist who killed a family or a baby will do it again and the State conveys the message that there is no problem with committing murders. I have no words."
"They kill civilians and are later released with a master's degree into Jerusalem. They can reach anywhere in the city. I am concerned and I am full of shame," said Ben Yishai with rage.
Roi, eldest son of Udi and Ruth Fogel, was at home during the 2011 massacre in Itamar. As the terrorists brutally murdered his parents and siblings, Roi lay under a blanket in the living room. The terrorists did not notice that there was someone under the blanket, and his life was spared.
Bereaved families have been protesting against the upcoming release of 26 terrorist murderers as a "gesture" to the Palestinian Authority.
On Saturday night, the cabinet approved the list of the terrorists who will be freed. They are expected to be freed on Monday.
Shortly after the cabinet approval, the Israel Prison Service made public the list of the 26 terrorists who will be freed. These include, among others, a terrorist who was convicted of the murders of 16 Israelis.
What kind of answer could anyone give him that would
justify this?
I’m verklempt.
The palleees will, as sure as the sun rises in the east, return the "gesture" with their own. Maybe this child, whose name in French might lead one to some leadership roll, Roi will grow up to lead Israel and return a more appropriate "gesture" to mass murder.
Makes about as much sense as..
Starship captain to release Borg as gesture of good will.
Kerry will applaud them. The Palis will see it as a sign of weakness.
Israel does this sort of thing. Israel, recently released over ONE THOUSAND ISLAMIC TERRORISTS for just ONE ISRAELI SOLDIER - Gilad Shalit.
Apparently Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu knows what he is doing.
Supreme Court Rejects Petition Against Terrorist Release

The Supreme Court rejected on Thursday a petition seeking a temporary restraining order on the third batch of 20 terrorist murderers set to be released early next week as part of peace talk “gestures.” The planned release has evoked strong protests.
“With all due understanding of the petitioners’ pain, their petition does not raise any legal ground for intervention. The claims have been raised and ruled on in the past,” stated the judges.
Petitioners had called for the establishment of clear criteria regarding the release of terrorists, and the cessation of terrorist releases until then.
The petition was filed by five members of the Schijveschuurder family. Their parents and three siblings were murdered over 12 years ago in the Sbarro suicide bombing in Jerusalem that killed 15 and wounded 130. Ahlam Tamimi, who took part in the attack, was released in 2011 in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.
With the rejection of the petition, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to release the murderers next week, at the same time announcing new Judea and Samaria construction.
Bereaved father and current events analyst Dr. Aryeh Bachrach called Netanyahu a “scoundrel,” arguing that he has been using building announcements to cover the releases as part of an act to fool voters.
The names of the terrorists to be released will be announced 48 hours before their release, to give a brief window for more Supreme Court petitions against the release.
MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) said Wednesday at a meeting with bereaved mothers that “the state of Israel is losing touch with the morality that characterizes any country, not to mention the morality that needs to characterize the Jewish country.”
“I am in a state of desperation; if Binyamin Netanyahu does it, I don’t know what to expect anymore,” commented Shaked. “My hope is that we’ll find a legislative solution by which we will get rid of the possibility of such release deals in the future.”
Recently, the Supreme Court rejected a petition calling for the trial of Arab MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad) for taking part in the Mavi Marmara flotilla attack on the IDF in 2010.
