FReeper shout out to Tom Marr...
I’ve been on the phone with HP.com/store, for the past 4hrs, trying to buy a super-fast, office-grade PC (for back-up unit), like the one I’m using, and the site is transferring me all around the world to get simple password help. For the past 4hrs.
There’s a $1,500 unit in my checkout cart, but the site won’t accept an established password, yet recognizes me, won’t let me reset password, and keeps transferring me. As a result, I can’t checkout and pay for a purchase.
I’ve never tried so hard to give a freaking company my $1,500 for one of their products, and been screwed six-ways-to-Sunday. HTF do they stay in business?
HP just closed at 8pm, and I was cut-off. After 4hrs. *%^$#@*&)^%%&!!!!!!!
Sounds like my Home depot experience today.
HP has TWO websites running parallel, with conflicting account information, and no one there knows how to give assistance to get this unending horror show straightened-out.
The guy I talked to said HP’s cut employees to 29hrs, and new part-timers are rotating in 3-4 shifts, until closing. They’re also testing a beta site, which is different from the old, original site, and it does recognize my account, but not my password or security question.
So I have a $1,500 unit which I can’t buy... MFSOB. (((grrrrrrrrrrrrrr))) Just unbelieveable. I think I’m going to wait until after 1/1/14 and try again. My BP’s spiking and I’m blowing gaskets and hydraulic lines.
A transaction like that should take 20 to 30 minutes tops.
Maybe you should just set up a new account and start over. Call your credit card company and make sure they haven’t charged you for anything yet.
I have my bank CCs open in a new window and check them. Nothing, and I’ve not gotten to checkout yet to input any purchase data.
HP still does not recognize my password, yet my account is there. I have changed passwords 3x, and it still comes back ‘invalid password for login’.
I have a local computer store owner, a 2nd Amend friend
, coming at 10am to help. He’s an HP Reseller, and should be able to do something, I hope. I’m worn out, mentally. I’ve tried every workaround I know.
They’re running old & new parallel sites in beta upgrade. URLs are changing all over the place, as are pages on the site, This is a mess. Heh...
HP.com is all messed-up, so I went to Ebay, found the same darned unit at HALF ($752) the $1,552 price, got a new MS-Office Pro 2007 for $115 (not $599), i5 3.3 3570 quad-core processor and 2 8GB sticks of DDR3 1600 memory for $199, instead of $352. They kept shuffling me off to re-sellers, and finally admitted they don’t handle business/office systems on that site.
HP.com sucks.
I didn’t know you could buy a customized brand name computer like that on eBay. Good to know.
