I saw that article. I'm betting the poor guy will go to jail for a long time, probably life. If it had been the other way around? Well, the city would have paid, and nobody would have been terminated.

I saw that case too. If no dog is available to shoot, they’re down to stomping on the family parrot. It was probably mouthing off and deserved to be stomped on... (so goes the badge polisher’s mantra).

Did the cops go home safe and sound that evening?

KA-POW! That's the sound of my thunder being stolen. :)

Hehe, sorry about that, it probably was one of your posts that first brought that aspect to my attention.

This Sheriff is an a**hole and needs to be turned out of office at the next election.

I’d go in asking for five mill and watch the city’s attorneys scramble to negotiate.
A civil jury is going to want to make those dumb bastards pay.
actually; make sure, only these LEO/city officials pay the complete award...
and give this citizen a special dispensation (Kid-glove/politician treatment)
to defend himself & his family against any other LEO of any police Department.
(retribution; in this case, I wouldn't trust them..it must be earned again)

Wolfie keeps coming back. He’s more difficult to get rid of than a corrupt cop.

If I were on the jury, the sheriff would be fired right after issuing a public apology to the guy and I'd buy the popcorn for the other jury members for when they sit in on the civil case. If the judge doesn't commute his time in jail for this over onto his 4 marijuana plant offense (and I hate mj) then I'd be actively supporting the opponent in the next election.

They are now branching out. On another thread, there was a cadre that was advocating for the police to be able to shoot traffic violators, red light runners specifically on sight. I don’t believe that there is a shortage of them, they are just regrouping.

Yeesh. How can these folks claim to be lovers of freedom, when they advocate for people’s rights to be stomped on???

First off, I don’t think all cops are bad. I do however believe the
standards to be a cop have been lowered to the point that a lot
of idiots do become cops.
oh! ..I wholeheartedly agree...
Seems they're also watching the
same (Hollyweird ;) Cop shows
...a very few bad apples spoils the bushel of apples.

“Put yourself in the deputies’ position,” said Sheriff Knezovich.

I hope he is an elected Sheriff. He should be un-elected because he is endorsing dangerous behavior.

It just floors me that he as the supervisor didn’t at least have the smarts to apologize. First rule of customer service. Apologize and most will be satisfied.

But Sheriff Knezovich is a danger to his community. His attitude is infectious. I wonder how many dogs and people he has shot in his career. How many people has he slammed against a hood breaking teeth or noses? I would like to know.
