...after losing their T-shirt company I didn't know that business owners could collect unemployment.

In the wake of hurricane Katrina people didn’t even need to prove they had been working to collect unemployment. All they had to be was old enough to have held a legal job and claim they had lost it due to the hurricane.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they were paying themselves as employees and paying the taxes like everyone else.

That’s what I was thinking; since they maxed out their extended unemployment and just lost their business in June, I imagine they started the business after one or both lost their job.

I didn't know that business owners could collect unemployment. We can't and the fact that they now admitted to taking it, means they legally have to pay it back and could likely end up in jail for defrauding the system. So that is step one to calling BS on this article. Second, 'stop dining out,' really? That is not a hardship, it is a luxury. Third, oh horrors upon horrors they have to take a minimum wage job! Why not before now? You see this is what is exactly wrong with the current system! These people represent what is wrong with the attitude of ...most of America...right now. The system has enabled millions of people to remain comfortable in their poverty. And worse, it enables them in their slothfulness, which is morally wrong & sinful.

I didn't know that business owners could collect unemployment.I've never heard of that, either. Maybe it's one of those *newly deemed law* parts of 0DeathCare. Wouldn't surprise me.
Bew hew that these folks might have to sell their big screen TV's. Breaks my heart. Not.
