I defer to your greater knowledge regarding “benefits”, because its been several decades since I was even eligible to apply for them.

I've never “lost” my job, but have always resigned and found another one, usually never skipping a paycheck!
(Temporary employment agencies paid way more than unemployment benefits, and I could say no, if I didn't want a particular position)

Nowadays, at my age and skillset, I would probably choose to pursue 1099’d positions, instead of signing up with a temp agency.

Good for you ma’am!

My knowledge regarding “benefits” comes from watching politicians trade our tax money for votes and seeing what happens when they take advantage of people who are not taught the ways of citizenship, freedom and the associated personal responsibilities.

I’ve worked my whole life and never “collected” anything I haven’t earned.

I’ve been broke plenty of times, but never “poor.” ;-)
