So it's not just a coincidence the Ill/Indiana border is full of gas stations, tobacco stores, etc on the Indiana side?
It has been since this idiot got elected the first time.
That sounded like it was a little dubious, at best, the begin with.
ROFL! Nope, not a coincidence at all. I suspect after Shitcago raised the cigarette tax again last week you’ll be seeing alot more traffic on that side of the border very soon.
People definitely have a mindset that if they are making $1500/mo on benefits why should they work to make $2000/mo?
They look at it like they are working all month to earn just %500.
I've never heard of that, either. Maybe it's one of those *newly deemed law* parts of 0DeathCare. Wouldn't surprise me.
Bew hew that these folks might have to sell their big screen TV's. Breaks my heart. Not.
I hear you; when I started I was surprised at how much money I still had in my pockets when I’d get home from work (and lunch wasn’t costing nearly what you were paying in Chicago).
Yep — he’s right! Radiologgists look at the films, and don’t have to directly BE with people ...it is pretty cool.
I haven't had a vacation in years, because I needed those days for excess sick time pay.
I wasn't “deprived” of vacation, just very lucky that my employer let me use those vacation days as and when I needed them.
I sell my skills and time to my employer. In the last few years, and under the current economic malaise, it is harder to negotiate in good faith for a raise.
26 weeks is far too long to draw “benefits” for merely refusing to work.
The “entitlement mentality” is not just the uneducated and unskilled. I see an even larger number of ill-educated and semi-skilled con artists.
You are the person speaking in absolutes, not me.
You say that "The overwhelming majority of the unemployed are out there every day trying to find a job, literally any job.".
The word "moochers" is yours, not mine.
There's a whole reality that exists between the two you do not seem to wish to consider.
I have no expectation that someone will be out "every day, trying to find a job, literally any job." It flies in the face of experience and reason.
Are there moochers? Probably.
I think the great majority lies somewhere in the middle...somewhere along a spectrum of kicking themselves because they feel like failures, and those who make excuses. Both deny reality.
