A prominent New Jersey doctor well known for taking in foster kids was rocked by an unthinkable horror when one of his adopted children allegedly stabbed another to death in their home.
Rest peacefully, angel, Dr. Robert Gallo wrote on his Facebook page with a picture of his daughter Teia, 20.
Her foster brother, Travis Gallo, 17, allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in front of two other siblings at their Washington Township home, sources said.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
A wise woman I know once said that while she supported adoption, “you never know what you are getting”.
For some reason, this reminds me of Timothy Treadwell.
Wowza..! What an angel, oh sure, what parent wouldn’t want to take home that there TUPAC, right..?
Shudder.
Look at those eyes...
Wow...dead eyes.
Anyway, if I am going to adopt anything, it’s going to be a dog.
I do can just fine without any adopted humans.
I have to say this: our legal system is very much in need of an overhaul when this is an expected situation:
allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in front of two other siblings ... Travis Gallo was arrested at the scene and pleaded not guilty to murder
I would like the justice system to take a perp aside and say, "Look, if you plead guilty, you're looking at 10 years in jail and you can start serving the time tonight. It will save a lot of time and money for everyone. Or, you can plead Not Guilty. Let me be clear: you will be convicted. Then you get the death penalty with one chance at appeal, and that won't go well for you either. So -- what's it going to be?"
When my wife had some early (later cured) fertility problems, I said pretty much the same thing.
They’d had the kid since he was three years old. I wonder if black culture had any influence on him? He’s got a nice upper-middle-class family, but in cases such as these there’s always a tendency to gravitate toward “their own kind.” I think that played a major role in the development of our current president, who hasn’t stabbed anyone directly, but has stabbed millions by proxy.
No one knows for sure what they're going to get even when they have children of their own.
My grandparents took in foster kids and had a twin brother stab another to death in their kitchen.
As horrible as this story is, you can’t fault the doctor for trying to do good.
Tragic, but there are dozens if not hundreds of murders by biological family members every year. I hope no one would incriminate adoption based on this incident.
I draw from this story more conclusions about race than about adoption.
Sometimes this happens when you try to recreate the blind side.
When a child is raised in the worst neighborhoods in a life of poverty and deprivation we must expect these things to happen.
No good deed goes unpunished.
I'm not sure that that's a reasonable attitude on your part.Trash....punks....bums.....scumbags...come in all colors, genders, ethnicities, etc in this country.I'm white...of Irish ancestry...and have run across at least a couple of individuals similar to me who are absolutely worthless trash.Or,for a better example, look at the Kennedys. Is there *any* act of filthy barbarity that they, collectively, haven't committed?
AND, now the need to register ‘kitchen knives’ comes to be!
he was three-years old when they adopted him... they grew up together... why does the article call him her “foster brother?” he was not her foster brother... they were both adopted... he was her brother...
