The white Texas man facing federal hate crime charges for allegedly slugging a 79-year-old black man in a “knockout game” assault was denied bail Friday for an attack prosecutors say was racially motivated.
During a hearing in U.S. District Court in Houston, U.S. Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy said suspect Conrad Barrett, 27, is a flight risk and danger to the community, according to Barrett’s lawyer, George Parnham.

“Hate crimes tear at the fabric of entire communities,” said Acting Assistant U.S. Attorney General Jocelyn Samuels in a statement announcing Barrett’s charges Thursday.

An aware jury would acquit him because he is being charged with a “hate” crime. He should have been charged with assault and battery and all the other things that can be made to go with it like “reckless endangerment,” and “disorderly conduct,” etc. but hate crime charges are surely unconstitutional. The idea of laws against thoughts in the USA is appalling.
The media is so excited to finally find a white guy who did it.

I have no problem with locking up this white POS with no bail or even charging him with a hate crime. My problem is that blacks who invented the game are dismissed, never charged with a hate crime and their identity of being black is seldom mentioned.

Flight risk and danger to the community alledged by the government. Wow. He is probably guilty, he should go to jail for along time but to not allow bail is an over reach here.
I say charge this ass-hat with attempted murder, and do the same for all the other thugs who hit strangers hard enough to render them unconscious.
Why does a free country need anything like a “hate crime”? (I’ve heard this used to be a free country.) I don’t care what the criminal is thinking or feeling, it’s the act that matters. Adding penalties for a hate crime is just a short step from making hate itself a crime, and guess who gets to define “hate”?
Once that’s out of the way let’s get back to impeaching Holder, who has once again shown himself to be interested in anything but justice.

The Phil Robertson case (which needs to be kept alive, by the way), “hate crime” charges selectively applied, disgust over everything from Miley Cyrus to Piers Morgan ... and the list goes on. I was appalled to see an ad on TV, in the middle of the day, for a Trojan flexing VIBRATOR! Say what? Try explaining that one to your kids!

The Injustice Department didn’t bother to investigate the police forces that refused to prosecute these hate crimes when the targets were white people, Jews, and Asians.
