Well, considering that it's essentially Mexico now, you kinda are a foreigner.

I am also 3rd generation, my grandparents came to California on wagon trains, met and married in "Hangtown" (Placerville). They must be rollin' over in their graves by what they see now.
I went back to Cali to visit the family in 2010. For the five days I was there, I felt like I was in some sort of hallucinogenic nightmare. I mean, the place creeped me out that bad.
My discomfort didn't stop until the wheels went up on the plane back home to Texas.
