Females in the Marine Corps will not have to meet the physical fitness standard--set to go into effect as of January --of being able to do at least three pull-ups, the Corps quietly announced on social media.
Unlike their female counterparts, male Marines have long been required to do at least 3 pullups.

flexed arm hang for time has LONG been the requirement for women Marines.
And then she out shoots you on the range because she has more discipline.
Got pictures?
This is going to be really confusing before new standards are considered, debated, standardized, agreed upon, put into practice, enforced at threat of dishonorable discharge, then willfully ignored, then openly discouraged, then officially removed from the books of regulations. That whole process may take about 35 years or so, and take countless careers with it due to ‘violations’ some real some imagined. It takes a long time to right a big ship, even when everyone knows it is on the wrong course.
Goodbye to the Marines as we knew them.
I pray they haven’t changed the standards for Navy Seals.
>>Weve never done pull-ups. Weve always done the flexed arm hang.. and that is NOT easy.
You were never allowed to be combat Marines either. Now, people’s lives may depend on your upper body strength.
Meanwhile, how many fine young Marines will die or suffer debilitating injuries in combat because one of the ‘ladies’ just couldn’t cut it.
My dad, who fought on Guadalcanal and Bougainville is spinning 360s at Calverton national cemetery.
Nowadays, some of the kids probably could sneak a cell phone into a practice drill and take a few photos in a blink. Not so in the old days. You would have had to set the F stop first, then your Nikon or Cannon or Poloroid would have made a loud hissss and bright flash, earning the photographer (if male)a lot of unwanted attention, maybe even a smack in the mouth.
doesn't anybody look at movies or tv shows that show women beating the crap out of men with no problems. gawd.. how old fashioned, physical fitness.
bunch of misogynist.
“Ive had five kids and I can still do twelve pull ups. These women who cant even do one pull up arent qualified to be mothers let alone be Marines!”
HOOAH!
When I was on active duty I strove for 20 pullups and don’t remember how many chin ups.
We do know that these gals don’t need to do “push-ups” ....
Speaking of having to climb over large hills...;)
I think that has been the case for officers for some time now.

I know! Wonder Woman didn’t even mess up her hair! And don’t even get me started on Emma Peel! /s;)

And can do as many pull-ups as a female Marine.
How could you only be required to do 3 pullups?
They should be required to 20 or 30.
Can’t see how you can be considered fit not meeting that minimum as a standard.
Female Marines Not Required To Do 1 Pull-Up-
Male Marines Not Required To Do Any Pushups On Female Marines
Yer a hater...
Three pull ups...? I hope they mean that is required before before starting boot camp. Back in the day they had little excursions from boot camp called fat farms and motivation, and recruits who couldn’t do pull ups or push ups got into shape quick, or they got out.
LOL!!!
