Many of the troubles America now faces have their genesis – among many others – in the violation of God's laws for individuals and society, generally, and, specifically, those two observations by Aristotle. Aristotle and his philosophical brethren also understood that some humans lack the ability control themselves and will, in an orderly society, require that they be controlled by external forces. The existence of large numbers of those within a society who lack that self-control provide opportunities for those with tyrannical impulses to grow those external forces to greater and greater levels of intensity until, one by one, those freedoms once thought a birthright disappear.
Indeed, the more cunning of those would-be tyrants, by conscious action or inaction, will encourage the growth in numbers and intensity of violence of those lacking that self-control in order to justfy and satisfy their lust for power.
While the process has been used by others of the American political class over the decades, we have been watching the development of the what could well be the final step in that process by a strident would be despot since January, 2008!
I present for your consideration several internet videos I just found that reflect what more and more of those of us born in the 1930s and 40s consider to be stark evidence of the cultural devastation now moving this country toward a very dark future.
And, since I don't want Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson knocking on my door, let me stress that this is NOT exclusively a racial problem: IT IS CULTURAL!
The first of these (in two parts) deals with the destruction of large sections of Cleveland, Ohio. There are videos from many other deteriorating American cities out there. I used this one because Cleveland is where my wife and I were born, it's where we married, our first child was born and, though they are almost certainly aware of much of this information, my wife and I still have family and loved ones up there.
Your writer is heartsick that the city of our birth has descended to this level and seems to be on track to become another Detroit – or worse!
To balance the “Thieveland” videos, I offer one from Atlanta as a case study in how the lack of self-control among too many of our citizens can and does lead to the imposition of extraordinary physical actions.

I just tested these bloody links and they STILL don’t work. Still working on it.
Copy and paste into Youtube search does seem to work, however.
Which of these three things does not belong with the other two?

The first two say the video is deleted. The last one shows an Atlanta security guard.
Go to the youtube page your video is on. Copy the url. Don’t type anything into your post. No HTML. Just post the copied links.
Then preview your post. You should see the links underlined. Put you cursor over them to make sure they are the correct url. If so, post.
Those two Cleveland videos HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN. Someone very big did not want them to be seen!!
