There isn't a majority that opposes the Affordable Care Act because it's too liberal, in fact, a good number of Americans don't think it's liberal enough.
Todays CNN poll (PDF) on the Affordable Care Act seems like a blow to supporters of the law. When asked if they generally favor or generally oppose the presidents health care overhaul, only 35 percent say they favor. The large majority65 percentsay they oppose.
For Republicans who have staked their entire message on opposition to Obamacare, this looks like vindication. Not only was the rollout a disaster, but now, the public has turned decisively against the effort. Why would they stop the attacks and calls for repeal if Americans are united in disdain for the law?
The problem for Republicansand the good news for supportersis that the results are a little more complicated than they look. In addition to the binary question about support or opposition, CNN also asked respondents to explain their position on the law. Do they oppose the legislation because its too liberal, or do they oppose it because its not liberal enough.

Yeah -
If we get that - blame it on the greedy insurance companies which wanted Obamacare so they could milk the system. Instead, they gave the government the rope with which to hang them.
Republicans warned them this was going to happen and they didn’t listen. They should not expect a bailout any time soon.
The Democrats voters are the affluent, minorities and government workers.
White conservatives are a shrinking portion of the electorate and even the GOP is moving to the Left.
We live in interesting times indeed, as the old Chinese saying has it.
Jamelle Bouie’s black - and liberal. I’ll bet everyone he knows wants more free medical care. But if he’s walks out of his office and away from his comfort zone he’ll discover most people don’t think like he does.
Yep...they’re the LOOTERS
Its the demographics, stupid.
I’m not too optimistic about GOP prospects in 2014.
It done nothing but talk about repealing Obamacare and in fact, its fully funded it for the next two years.
You don’t need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing.
These people wanted another freebie. This plan is identical to Medicaid. Medicaid is the costliest plan that every state has. The real problem many on the left have are the deductibles even if the plan is 100% paid for due to their income. They have grown accustomed to handouts and expected first dollar coverage and they’d never pay one cent.
Yup. In Medicaid, you never pay a premium and there are low co-payments for doctor office visits and generic prescription drugs.
Obamacare on steroids.
IS there such a thing as “too liberal”?
Apparently not. When some demand, no matter how outrageous it may have been to begin with, is finally granted, they go on and move the goalposts, to some new and apparently even more improbable objective.
Talk about confusing wants with needs. What most liberals need is a good swift boot in the gluteus maximus, sometimes hard enough to cause a nosebleed. And of course, they have already almost succeeded in totally outlawing any sort of corporal punishment as a corrective measure. But apparently this same kind of bodily mistreatment is OK as a form of sexual stimulation.
The kindest adjective that may be applied to liberals is “confused”.
There is nothing “liberal” about what they are asking for
They don’t see it as slavery. The word is “compassion”, remember?
It is incumbent upon us to start to use the word slavery to describe what is expected of those who are footing the bill for “free healthcare”.
The more we use the brutally honest term the more WE control the debate. That is what we have to do.
I prefer to call them: NeoProgs.
Stealing from their tag of "NeoCons" and throwing it right back at them.
The term “liberal” is just another term that was hijacked and twisted to a meaning nearly the opposite of that which it once meant.
“Gimme stuff” is a more accurate definition of their actions.
And their complaint? “Whatcha done for me lately?”
I’m afraid I don’t understand the criticism of his conclusion, which is that 35% like Ocare, 15% don’t like it because it doesn’t go far enough, and 50% don’t like it because it goes too far.
Those numbers seen entirely reasonable to me.
It’s like the question they ask all the time in the polls, “Do you feel good about where the country is?”
Those answering in the negative will obviously fall into two groups: those who think we’re going in the right direction but not fast enough, and those who think we’re going the wrong way.
All good liberals know how to fix Obamacare. Tax the rich to pay for more subsidies. Then borrow more to pay for even more subsidies. Repeat as often as necessary. /s
BINGO!!!!
ObamaCare was never designed to work the way it was sold.
It was and is a mechanism to do two things: collapse the existing health insurance market in order to create misery and establishing government fascism by law over what you must purchase.
The redistribution of billions of dollars to the MarxoFascists who were employed to implement it was an added bonus.
The purpose of collapsing the existing health insurance market is to create an urgent clamor for government to 'fix' the exponential misery it caused - and the solution will be total government run and administered health care.
They are years ahead of where they thought they would be - and they are going for all the marbles.
Welcome to despotism.
Someone - maybe YOU junk - should write up a bunch of stuff AS IF Obama had told the truth... then ask the question... "Would you have voted for Obama if he had told the truth"
Odd, but I don’t agree with one thing you said...
What Zot you said?
