Go over to the AARP boards and write that and see the response you get. If you are on patrol in the military, and an enemy grenade drops in the middle of the patrol, Soldiers will do one of two things. They will dive for cover or they will jump on the grenade. Look at the Medal Of Honor citations. A lot of them jump on the grenade. What doesn’t happen is one Soldier grabbing another Soldier and throwing him on the grenade. That ‘s not just poor form, your fellow Soldiers will shoot you. We retired Veterans understand sacrifice. We lived it. What we find really repugnant is somebody who didn’t put in twenty years or more in the service (Was Ryan ever in the service?) throwing us on the grenade so he can claim some kind of fame.
And your comparing emergency service workers to Soldiers is insulting to Soldiers. Probably not intentionally, but still insulting. I respect and admire emergency service workers. Some of them willingly go into dangerous situations. But it is nowhere near the same thing.

Not one damn day.
