Medicare is actually one of the worst entitlement scams this country has ever seen. It's even worse than Social Security, since at least Social Security taxes (FICA) are capped every year at a certain income threshold. Medicare is headed for insolvency earlier than Social Security, too.

I knew the future of this country's fiscal stability was hopeless once we had Republicans criticizing the Obama administration for cutting Medicare. Let him cut Medicare, you morons. As a jug-eared half-black Democrat he can do these things and get away with them, while a Republican administration would be charged with crimes against humanity for doing the exact same thing.

What we’re paying for Medicare (both pre-65 in taxes and post-65 in premiums) is a fraction of what it costs.

Unlike Soc Sec, which at least “pretends” to do that, Medicare has never been financially viable.

It’s really just a question of how much debt the current generation wants to run up.
