While the Japanese were celebrating the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December of 1941, the mastermind of that attack, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, had a sobering message for his countrymen. "We have awakened a sleeping giant," he said.
Even before the war began, the admiral had warned his emperor that Japan would enjoy early victories in any war with the United States, but that winning streak would last only six months to a year, after which American industrial might would inevitably overwhelm the small island nation.
He was right. For the first few months of World War II, the Japanese war machine steamrolled over the Pacific, humiliating and defeating the best that the United States and its allies (British Commonwealth and Dutch) could throw against it, winning battle after battle. To some, it seemed hopeless to resist.
Then came the Battle of Midway, where the Japanese Navy suffered its first catastrophe, and the long, bloody road to Allied victory began.
For years now, the gay lobby has steamrolled over the Christian conservative movement, humiliating us and defeating us in battle after battle. Then came the battle of "Duck Dynasty," and the gay lobby suffered a major backlash. Have they finally met their Midway?
For many years now, the drill has become familiar. Someone speaks out in favor of maintaining the traditions of marriage, and instantly the gay rights organizations are up in arms, making threats, filing lawsuits, and mobilizing protests. Then, instead of Christians putting up a serious resistance, there is apathy, apology, and defeat. The script was repeated over and again, time after time.
This time was different....

The term “homophobe” has always amused me. My fear of homosexuals ranks just below my fear of being dragged into the ocean by seahorses.
When is Phil going to throw his hat into the ring? Everyone said a movie star couldn’t be President either. This would cause Rove to commit harikari.
All signs point to America still being largely asleep. Obama has been increasingly flouting the law for five years, the USSC stepped on the US Constitution with a muddy boot on Obamacare, and Chick-fil-A saw a similar outpouring of support and outrage over homo-fascism, and America STILL didn't reject Obama, couldn't take the Senate, lost House seats, and lost marriage amendments.
And still the giant sits at home glued to irrelevant sports and Dancing With the Stars. No, America is comatose.
Starting just after world war 2, fueled in part by the GI Bill, it became near impossible to get a job of any kind in corporate america without a college degree. Then, almost all current employees were filtered thru the re education camps that were once america’s great learning centers. The result, corporate America is no longer a series of entrepreneurial outposts, advancing and celebrating the free expression of individual human energy. They are more along the lines of bureaucracies, advancing the cause of government.
I wish it weren't so, but for the first time gay marriage started to win in recent elections. (Maine, Washington, etc.) Obama was forced to come out in support of it in 2012, and it didn't hurt him. I know people who didn't support gay marriage 2 years ago, and now think it's "mean," to be against it. People have been fired by their companies for being against gay marriage outside of work. They wore people down by attrition.
Think about this... the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage this year, and it barely caused a ripple.
How quickly people forget Chick-fil-a. The sleeping giant just rolled over and went back to sleep, but not before voting for B.O. Or at least failing to vote for the alternative. American “Christians” are too distracted by their stuff to bear any fruit.
Gay marriage was legalized in Utah last week! And the opposition died with a wimper.
ask Chick Fil E
Agreed. This will follow the same trajectory as Chik fil A. Which was still a “win” for us in a lot of ways, but really didn’t move the political ball forward ...
Think about this: A & E was last week.
“A place where a man can live his life full measure...” The great Rod Seeking. Nice reminder, thanks!
A&E is meaningless. After this incident, TV will make sure people whose beliefs are not in line with corporate ideology will never see the light of day, unless they are being completely ridiculed.
The truth hearse
Keep failing away. The people are not accepting the gay agenda. And no amount of disinformation about it will change that. That the pitch forks and torches are not out yet does not mean the people have surrendered.
Well, Cracker Barrel backed down in a hurry. If we put enough pressure on, they will figure out 98% is a bigger number than 2%.
My Urban Poverty Law Center was founded in 1988 to help stamp out poverty and ignorance and we have a long way to go, yet!
They’re in congress. They have met up.
I will believe it after November 2014 elections.
Don’t be fooled these leftist communists have billions in tax payer funds channelled to every community organizing group imaginable, enough to steal elections all across the country, and don’t forget the feckless Republicans who can wait to kiss the butts of the democrats by nominating rinos
bingo!
