Three people died and at least three others suffered gunshot wounds as a wave of pre-Christmas carnage swept the city on Friday night and Saturday morning, authorities said.
The violence kicked off in the Bronx around 7:30 p.m. when 19-year-old Edward Melina was killed by a gunshot wound to his torso.
Melina was shot in a dispute that unfolded on East Tremont Avenue near Crotona Avenue. He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital but could not be saved.
The bloodshed continued in Brownsville, Brooklyn when police found a 36-year-old man shot to death at the Kingsborough houses at around 2 a.m., cops said.

I was in NYC last week. I saw my first squeegee man in many years!
Boy soon to be ex-mayor bloomberg will really bee pissed if he finds out that they were smoking those fake cigs.
Three people is carnage across NYC???
Next comes the boomboxing, knife-wielding pimps on the subways.
If only Bloomberg would step in with drastic gun laws.
Carnage?
The Battle at Gettysburg was carnage...Custer’s Last Stand...December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor ..9/11 in NYC, even.
3 dead in NYC? Nah, that’s just a bump in the road. Ask president Zero.
didn’t they mean to say “pre holiday”?
Pre-Kwanzaa
Does anyone truly believe any of these thugs celebrates the birth of Christ?
along with drastic ketchup control laws
On the plus side, fewer large drinks were sold and no e-cigarettes were found on the victims.
Cuomo the commie coward governor needs to drag his ugly butt into the NYC streets and confiscate those weapons that hold more than 10 rounds. It’s the law, man. Do your job, you liberal, knuckle-dragging ape. Save the children.
Rents have been falling for three straight months and vacancies in New York City are their highest since 2006. The idiots in New York can’t connect the dots between DeBlasio and rising crime rate and the economic fallout. A city of 8 million or however many fools, if ever there was one.
Should of erected Weiner Abedin! That’ll learn ‘em!
Solution? We need to take more guns away from law abiding citizens
I think some folks can actually conceal carry in NYC. They have to disassemble their ammo and have the casings and slugs and powder and primers carried by 4 other folks who remain at least 200' away from each other and from the person carrying. The person with the weapon has to have a trigger lock installed and then has to keep the weapon in a portable safe (takes retina scan/fingerprint scan/3 separate combos to open) which is rated at 6,000 Celsius for 16 hours, which makes it rather bulky and needs a small panel truck to haul it around.
Don't even get me started on the sequencing rules and requirements for actually being authorized to start to assemble it into an operational weapon - we'll be here for the next 16 hours - about how long it takes before it can go BANG!
