Video in HD of China Lunar Rover Approach Landing On the Moon

TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; Miscellaneous; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: china; lunarrover
Watching the video is rather uneventful as the lander approaches the lunar surface. It's more event-driven than anything specifically interesting to watch. There's definitely a feeling of envy, remorse watching the landing, knowing what we've accomplished is light years ahead of what China has done and that sense of what might have been had we maintained even the tiniest modicum of momentum where Apollo left off and we'd probably have a manned lunar presence. As I've said before, I've always felt China's entrance into its space program was just so that it could make deliveries of Chinese food to the space station and so to the American moon colony that should have been there as it also was supposed to be.

In addition to the sense of envy, remorse is one of unmitigated egregious anger directed at Zero for deliberately, maliciously taking America out of the excitement and purpose of space exploration and colonization of the moon,

May the day come when he receives the comeuppance he so absolutely deserves, and may his Judgement Day come here on Earth for all to see and enjoy with the greatest of schandenfreude..

” just so that it could make deliveries of Chinese food to the space station and so to the American moon colony that should have been there as it also was supposed to be”

I’m not sure that they will EVER be able to deliver Chinese food in spacecraft every two hours reliably.:)

But still, I congratulate them on doing this mission! Someone had to pick up the gauntlet that we had dropped.

2008 Pentagon Report (March 2008):
China's Growing Military Space Power

By Leonard David
Special Correspondent, SPACE.com
March 6, 2008

GOLDEN, Colorado — A just-released Pentagon report spotlights a growing U.S. military concern that China is developing a multi- dimensional program to limit or prevent the use of space-based assets by its potential adversaries during times of crisis or conflict.

Furthermore, last year's successful test by China of a direct-ascent, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon to destroy its own defunct weather satellite, the report adds, underscores that country's expansion from the land, air, and sea dimensions of the traditional battlefield into the space and cyber-space domains.

Although China's commercial space program has utility for non- military research, that capability demonstrates space launch and control know-how that have direct military application. Even the Chang'e 1 — the Chinese lunar probe now circling the Moon — is flagged in the report as showcasing China's ability "to conduct complicated space maneuvers — a capability which has broad implications for military counterspace operations."

During this period, our exploration has been concentrated on ways to reward inventors of phony paper financial schemes, by dumping them on innocent citizens that had nothing to do with them. Exploring shakedown schemes on small businesses resulting in skyrocketing unemployed and unemployment compensation where no man has gone before. And exploration into opening up our own territory to non-citizens for their own exploration of the takeover of our country.
