As our members of Congress head home to enjoy the holiday recess and start of the New Year, I look back at all the progress weve made on immigration in 2013 building a nationwide coalition of leaders who carry a bible, wear a badge or own a business and I look forward to what 2014 holds in store for reform.
Wide acknowledgement from Republican House leadership and support among Republican constituents shows that immigration reform is definitely not a dead issue, but one with great opportunity in 2014.
Every member of the House leadership team has expressed commitment to move reform forward in 2014, and each week the number of rank and file Republicans in favor of reform grows.
In 2013 we made great strides toward a successful 2014 for immigration. Considering that just over a year ago this issue was on the sidelines, the fact that the home stretch is in sight is no small accomplishment.
2014 stands to be that blockbuster year that finally takes reform across the finish line.

Jeb is a bad joke. His brother was a disaster, but this dunce would have us yearning for the good ol’ days of the Haditha 8, TARP and the prosecuted border agents. Bob
Eventually, it may come down to exactly that. In fact, I am sure it will.
The only thing about immigration that needs “reforming” are the ethics and accountability of those responsible for enforcing the laws which are already on the books.
Sadly, the reason for this is that it is a PITA to arrest snd book an illegal. It’s also pointless, because they will be released and never actually show up for trial anyway.
Time is now for immigration law enforcement.
When we enforce the laws we have, we can move on to others.
Bush is just another member of the political elite that has nothing but contempt for the middle-class.
He’s made his millions and the rest of us need to pay more taxes and have our wages driven into the basement.
I’d hit it.
With a rolled-up newspaper.
That is exactly a bingo, Sir! NWO moron to the third degree!
if i were president I would deport any Mexican crossing the border illegally to Iran or some other Islamic country. after that then no more would cross
Illegal Alien Amnesty is Anti American Bigotry
You can see which race the Jebose Boosh family sides with...and it ain’t with the white anglos
Uncle Ted Kennedy told us in 1986 there would be no more amnesty.
Yet, here we are.
mexicans invade the USA to take away our jobs and ruin the USA like they ruined Mexico
if i were president I would deport any Mexican crossing the border illegally to Iran or some other Islamic country. after that then no more would cross ever
Frankly, the teenage rap sheet you posted for Jeb inclines me to feel better about him than I currently do, rather than the opposite.
No more Bushes, especially not with an immigration reform leader for their platform.
Does anyone know why the time is now? Why not wait until the border is secured, first?
Also, what are the chances that Obama will go ahead with securing the border even if it’s the law and must be done first?
I agree completely.
1) Close the border with soldiers, shoot to kill
2) Detain anyone without proof of US citizenship or a currently valid visa
3) Begin returning anyone so detained to their country of origin or last transit
4) For any citizens of the United States of Mexico involved, bill their government $1000/head, and be prepared to seize Pemex assets as compensation.
Good reform proposal?
He can capitalize “Republican House,” but not Bible. The title of a book is a proper noun, so should be capitalized. I’ve noticed a trend lately, of affording the Holy Bible less respect than any other book. It speaks volumes about the person who stoops to that level. When I read his name, I expected some kind of nonsense, so at least I wasn’t surprised.
Are we talking about jeb bush jr?
