What we are dealing with here is attempted cultural tyranny. We have not lost any right to speak, but too many Americans have silenced themselves because of cowardice. It’s as simple with dealing with a schoolyard bully. We need to stand up to those who threaten us, or we give them our power.

Freedom not exercised is freedom lost. Remain silent long enough, and you'll one day find you've lost the ability to speak at all. Remain seated while tyranny destroys everything around you, and the day will come when you've lost the ability to stand at all.

There's a battle of words occurring on the internet over this outrage, and I think that's a good sign. It means that ordinary people are exercising their freedom to speak, and a great many are backing their words up with positive action. It's a precursor to the battles that lie ahead, and that gives me a great deal of confidence about our future.
