I'm tired of people getting in trouble for expressing their opinions, popular or not. A person should say what they believe, and we should support their right to say it, whether we disagree or not. This is America. Then again, I don't own a company that depends on revenue generated by quirky Louisiana duck hunters, who look like ZZ Top and believe homosexuality is wrong and Southern blacks were a lot happier back in the good old days.

Sarah Palin just suggested they move Duck Dynasty to the Sportsman channel that is carrying her new show!
"We here at A&E have decided to abandon the liberal ways of pissing off 80% of the American people to accommodate the less than 5% who are gay. Screw the 5%. In the USA majority rules, and so does the Robertson's right to free speech. Pissing off the many to please the few just doesn't make sense, and we here at A&E have come to our senses!"
Duck Dynasty (by another name of course) on Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network via Internet COULD become a reality if high dollar advertisers could be found.
Honestly this whole affair has opened my eyes to A&E I had no idea how viciously ideological A&E’s leadership really is. I think Phil is right, the Ducks really don’t belong on such a network that doesn’t really the essence of their brand.
A&E is just making a cheap buck selling something they don’t believe in and they should stop. The Robertson’s can do better somewhere else on a net work that actually believe in what their selling.
Do you really want A&E making big dollars off the Ducks? The Ducks should just move to anther network that actually likes their christian family message and brand.
Sure looks like it to me. And if I can fire my employees for their religious views I can fire them for any views. Such as secular humanist views like support of queer marriage. I'm gonna get rid of the enviro-wackos too.
Take Carrie Underwood for example. She says she is a Christian - I don’t know her heart - only God does. She seems to have some values. However, when asked this question she came back with - i can’t imagine someone not being able to marry the person they love. So, all was well within the liberal circles as she didn’t say it was a sin - she is now the darling of the leftist crowd for her favor of homosexual marriage - and she lost all credibility with me. Am I judging her? Not necessarily, but I think her career is more important to her than her faith. You shall know them by their fruits. Anyone who embraces this deviant lifestyle - whether or not they engage in it - tells me they don’t believe what the Bible says. JMO, of course.
You don’t have to say someone is damned to say they did something wrong and they still have an opportunity to try to make it right.
It won’t matter if they’ve already filmed it. They can’t go to air with it now, or they look like the small-minded, sleazy, avaricious freaks middle America thinks people on the coasts are.
People will say, “So, you’re not OK with Phil’s stand on gay people, but you are more than willing to air an entire season of Phil for the bucks, right?”
The stuff already in the can is getting more toxic to A&E by the day. DD is going to another network, probably FOX, where they will get more money, and carte blanche in terms of what to say and how to act.
Progressives - backing the wrong horse since Buchanan.
The Dixie Chicks went on a tirade against President Bush days before the Iraq War, and country music listeners went on a tirade to limit their air time (not eliminate air time or get kicked from their label).
You think music buyer-supported action is equivalent to a contract holder’s leverage maliciously stating a fellow contract holder’s words? Phil didn’t say he hated or disliked homosexuals at all, but that their acts, along with other sinful heterosexual acts from Corinthians, was sinful, as per Scripture. Do you equally think he said he disliked heterosexuals?
Get real.
You missed my post #63.
Really Mr Author? Show us where they said that.
These lib writers are simply despicable. I seriously doubt the suggestion that "blacks were happier in the good old days" ever came from the DD folks.
When all else fails, play BOTH the gay card and the race card. I'm sure the author felt better for it.......
I thought that pretty much from the beginning of this “flap” that DD would not, could not continue-—the entire feeling of the show would operate under a cloud without this key member. And i say this as someone who has seen all of 10 minutes of it since it’s been on the air.The forces that attacked it obviously resented greatly that this particular clan could’ve worked themselves into millionaire status, and were not worthy of having a show, bigtime popularity, and especially all that money, and STILL “cling” to their own beliefs.Believe me, I knew this was coming-—these people lay in wait, and strike at the exact right moment-—this is their M.O.
well the God of the rednecks is bigger than the devil of the deviates.
My only point was that it’s not a freedom of speech issue as much as a capitalist issue.
I just read what he said and it was considerably more subtle and intelligent than the “version” that was distilled down , and hence distorted ,to what they needed for their Agenda.
Bingo! Question of the day. Capitalism for me but not for thee.
.... and anyone with an obama bumper sticker.
They’re the first to go!!! ;^)
“It is not a freedom of speech issue. A and E has just as much a right to edit their own programming as Phil does to voice his opinion about gays.”
You’re right, it’s not freedom of speech. However, it could be a Civil Rights of 1964 Title VII violation. Human Resources 101, if you fire someone, make sure it is not on the 1964 list of no-nos. Religion is on that list and A&E admitted that was the reason.
They’ll back down soon or they’ll have a serious lawsuit coming.
