Phil is a shrewd guy. He’s been at odds with the producers for sometime now. Its been rumored that he might walk off the show. If he walks he does damage to his 18 million person fan base. If he gets thrown off the show for weighing in on a highly emotional topic, and weighing in exactly like his 18 million fans believe.... he wins big time. He keeps the fan base and when his no-compete clause runs out the family will be even stronger.
