THis is interesting. I’ve never had a problem with the Barnes here in Santa Rosa and they provide free parking.

All book stores employ odd people. I have an advanced degree in library science and have sought employment at a few book stores and have never been interviewed let alone hired.

My wife has a masters in Library science and ran into the same situation.

Gee. I teach LIS and every year a few of my students either work at a bookstore or left one to come to grad school. They don’t seem to have a problem getting hired out here in the heartland.

I generally buy from amazon, and these days prefer Kindle books, but I go in a book store every now and then. I never have a problem with the help. I don’t know what folks are talking about, but then, I am in the heartland where people, even if they don’t like your politics, are usually polite.
